In the instruction booklet there is a blacked out 9th and final boss but ive never seen in the game. Is it really not put in for some reason or only shows as a secret boss?
I've played a lot of video games. This is the hardest game I have ever played. Even with the wonderful tool of state save I gave up after about 6-3. The monotony and technicality was too much for me to handle. Anyone who beat this game the true, regular way is a hella awesome gamer. nuff said.

Meh, you guys don't understand the meaning of a TAS, TAS= Tool Assisted Speedrun, it involves an emulator and an incredible amount of save states and whatnot, TAS also takes longer then a normal Speedrun to do, because you keep doing it all over and over again(well some parts xD) until it looks just perfect, there are also times when there's a noticeable slowdown, so that means a rom-slowdown was also used(usually for insane jumps and precise firing), well a TAS takes a lot of effort. Gratz!

6:00 through 6:10 has to be about the most impossible jump sequence in video game history if you don't have tomahawks and that fire at the end omg there is no way anyone who hasn't devoted their life to playing this game can beat it without cheating. Awesome game though had it as a kid beat it with saves on my psp years later

People commenting, this is not really someone playing it straight through like a pro. It is said in the description that it is a TAS, meaning it is tool assisted. Basically, many tools were used to make sure the run was unhumanly precise perfect.
Nevertheless, it's still awesome to watch, and I'm not saying this didn't take effort.
I couldn't finish this game either. I lost my weapon in world 6 somewhere and it's not easy to find your axe in those high levels and trying to dodge everything was a royal and difficult pain in the ass.

Pretty much just what it says. It's a speedrun made by the use of save states, slow down, glitch exploits, and other tricks to output a flawless-looking speedrun.

I played this game for NES more then most and put a great deal of time into it.. I have the first 4 or 5 areas mastered but can almost never get past the 2nd boss without having to use a continue. I am playing the game now with the Hudson Bee continue cheat and Saving.. You have to cheat. I don't believe anyone that says they beat this w out
I also wonder if anyone on earth can beat this game without using save-states or TAS. It takes me more than 50 times before I can beat area 4 of stage 8-3, not to mention other stages with unreasonably harsh time limits and overwhelmed with enemies.
I finally beat this game with no continues or any kind of assistance yesterday. It toke me about a month of playing about 1-2 hours a day. By far one of the hardest games I've ever played. Good luck to everyone else who tries to beat this game.
5:42 is inhuman, The whole game is inhuman and almost impossible to be passed with 3 lifes and not being able to continue in the world or stage you were..
I have this game complete with the cart,box and manual. The box isn't in the best shape, but the cartridge and manual are in mint condition. Quite possibly the hardest game I've ever played besides Gremlins2 on the gameboy.
I could never do this, not even on the skateboard and not even 40 min. or less. I bought this in the Wii Shop Channel and I only got as far as 3-2. I'll keep trying, but there's no way I'll ever outmaster you. Any person who beats this game deserves a better ending though.

I also wonder if anyone on earth can beat this game without using save-states or TAS. It takes me more than 50 times before I can beat area 4 of stage 8-3, not to mention other stages with unreasonably harsh time limits and overwhelmed with enemies.

I finally beat this game with no continues or any kind of assistance yesterday. It toke me about a month of playing about 1-2 hours a day. By far one of the hardest games I've ever played. Good luck to everyone else who tries to beat this game.
P.S. The end of Stage 8-3 is insane

jesus christ... attempting the jump you so easily did at 6:04 had me wanting to wash my mouth out with a 9mm.
i heard the fire after that jump has the hidden pot in it. i'm not trying again to find out....

5:42 is inhuman, The whole game is inhuman and almost impossible to be passed with 3 lifes and not being able to continue in the world or stage you were..

I have this game complete with the cart,box and manual. The box isn't in the best shape, but the cartridge and manual are in mint condition. Quite possibly the hardest game I've ever played besides Gremlins2 on the gameboy.

I could never do this, not even on the skateboard and not even 40 min. or less. I bought this in the Wii Shop Channel and I only got as far as 3-2. I'll keep trying, but there's no way I'll ever outmaster you. Any person who beats this game deserves a better ending though.

.....the description says it's a Tool-Assisted-Speedrun. Thats why every jump is perfect. LOL I wonder if anyone completed this on the Nes. Speaking from experience, this game is soooo hard, I only completed it using savestates. And that ending.....wow.

I've completed it on the NES 2 years ago (re-playing it, yes. I'm old school).
But yes, I've cheated: I used the Hudson continue cheat. I dont remember the exact ammount, but perfectly I lost 700 lives.

haha i'm playing it right now on my nes. well i paused it to see how this guy plays area 7 round 4 because those damn spiders keep killing me everytime. i too use the cheat idk how anyone could play without the cheat unless they have no life

What the hell this run was amazing!I remember I wanted to burn this game in a fire so many times as a kid.This,Section Z and Master Blaster were the only games I couldnt beat.Nice job!By the way it looks like I didnt miss out on much with the 5 second lame ass ending!:D
