I have a yellow head amazon like this one and sings like this too. If you want him/her to sing you have to play music or sing all the time to her just like I do. It took me 2 years of singing to myself (to a point I thought I was heading nowhere with her) before I could hear her singing back to me. Now is very difficult to get her to stop after a while... so patience because your will do it eventually
I have an Amazon that I got almost three months ago, he is 10 years old and lived in such isolation that he didn't know how to be a bird. This video has really lit him up, he chatters back at this video, and stands on my keyboard laptop. Thank you for helping Stanley "come out of his shell".
birds can have little to no movement of their beaks to produce clear and concise words, songs and noises that could blow your ear drums. Especially these larger parrots.
of course is not fake, first the audio is not synchronized, and parrots make the sound inside their throat, they dont use lips like us cause they dont have any, thats why there is almost no movement of the beak when they speak, you only see beak movements on movies, cause common people assume the move the beak like us when they speak.
P.S. Just the soundtrack from this video makes my new Panama Amazon girl, Lola, talk and cry out "Hello!" back to Guy... Lola knows a stud when she hears one! Thanks, Guy!
My african grey is shaking his head listening to this, biting his nails and saying 'crap'... 'crap'.... Sorry! LOL... I happen to love it

Sorry but that is so fake the beak dont move or nothing for the words good try tho
BladeNerd45 3 years ago
The video and audio are out of sync which tarnishes the effect. That's definitely the voice of an Amazon parrot, trust me on that.

Fake? Okay idiot

my african grey talks while he is eating.beak doesnt move at all.Birds generate their words sounds etc... in their throats
rambomist 3 years ago
Birds don't have vocal chords; they depend a lot less on the shape of their throat to produce noise. It's not fake.

im probably just imagining this, but it sounds like part of what he is singing says "no place to hide"
I'm sure I'm just imagining it.
In any case, beautiful bird. I have seen hundreds of bird vids and this is still my favorite on YouTube!
