I just got this done today and it's not really that bad. But I do however feel a shit load of pressure pain but it's nothing I can't handle. The injection wasn't even that bad.
@killingu53 The shot hurts a little bit with the numbing, you'll feel a slight tingling pain, but it's highly peaceful pain compared to if you had no injection and you went through with the surgery, I MEAN SERIOUS PAIN IS IN THE SURGERY ITSELF. be lucky we have that numbing injection today.

never had the shot done on my toe, the needle bloody hurt when it went in at first (and i have tattoos so not bothered by needles) but on the plus side it wasn't actually that painful when the anaesthestic wore off. Although could only wear ugg boots but my toe was that swollen beforehand i could barely walk in any shoes anyhow!
Yeah the shots are painful, but your toe is so numb that you can't even feel the doctor touching it. Once anesthesia is gone, your toe will only hurt as much as it did before surgery and you'll be limping just cause you strains that it will hurt if you walk normally.
Had this done a couple hours ago, still dont feel anything... took 2 shots, first one was like a flu shot, second one hurt like FFFFFF but then they cut and you just feel like your toe is being moved around.
If you're having this done, don't worry... the pain lasts seconds, then its as if your toe didn't even exist.

Had this done yesterday and man was I nervous (sweating, stomach hurting) but after my doc used the numbing spray it wasn't to to bad. I did feel the needle go in and got lightheaded but it wasn't any worse than getting my mouth numbed for dental work!
if your having this done soon dont worry i had it done on both my big tows its not pretty just close yoru eyes deep breathe and the worst part is the first 2 needles you dont feel anything after that just tugging youll do fine. :)
Just got mine done an hour ago. I watched this videos awhile ago and knew what was gonna happen but like when he was injecting the needle to numb it I was literally so scared it most likely will happen to everyone not to scare you but just make sure you have water and a towel over ur head i felt like I was dieting but in the end well worth it it takes about 5 min to inject and 5mn to do his thing.
Instead of those things he shot you with, my doctor sprayed me with this extremely cold liquid to numb my toe. And he only left each needle in for about 15-20 seconds.
I've had both of my big toe nails fully removed. Honestly, it's not as bad as it looks/people make out. And Michael Jackson's awesome leave him alone!

I had an infected ingrown toenail on my left big toe and I had no anesthesia before the needle was put in and it really did burn a LOT. but after that, I felt nothing for atleast 10 hours. It's totally worth it though because your toe will feel so much better after the surgery :)

I had this done 3 hrs ago, and I agree and I will not lie the injection is really painful. My dr sprayed me with this freeze spray to help relieve the pain of the injection. But as soon as he started to inject it stung and it hurt, I wasn't numbed all the way. But I still went through with it, but i feel so much better now.

@ilovedogs1401 I dont know why they used a long needle. maybe its because of a factor of how your toe was. They used a long one needle on mine too. I think its because of what they put in the needle or something. and they had to numb my toe 6 times 3 near the back of the toe and 3 at the infected spot which i later found out it was staph infection. 0_o

@njnolan1 yes wear shoes that fit that dont push ur nails toward ur skin, also avoid big fat people stepping on ur toe, thats how i got it, some fat guy stepped on my toe that i had to go to the doctor to remove skin

It only hurts for a few seconds. After that, the anesthetic kicks in and you don't feel it. You will feel it when he moves to another spot, though.

I had this done today, I was shit scared- with good reason.
1) When the surgeon injects your toe(s) he injects you three times into the muscle and different points. This is the worst part of the operation. It hurts like a mo fo but you toe goes completely numb afterwards.
2) DO NOT WATCH THE OPERATION . Watch the injections if you like, but not the op itself. You cannot feel anything, so just trust the guy.
3) Be warned, it hurts a lot afterwards. Do everything the doc says.

just got this done thursday the only thing that hurt was the second shot but other than that its a painless procedure, after that they put you on an antibiotic and ibuprofine but ive only taken the ibuprofene like once but after the procedure it hurts like heck. Im 13 and it was actually a fun visit! so if you are woried about this dont they little bit of pain is worth not losing your toe because of an infection.

my 2 toes they worked on were numb for 24 hours . at least i didn't have to go to school today im 13 and they poked me 3 times for each toe. it hurts i was laughing so hard cuz i was scared i laughed so hard i started crying 2

Man, I have had to have a procedure like this 5 times... luckily the only thing that hurt was the shot which hurt like crazy at the beginning.

@wgarcia21able I'm 14 and i got it done yesterday and the needle doesnt hurt it burns a little when the medicine is going in and then its all numb and besides that you can feel them twisting and pulling the nail which hurts a little too. so besides that its better than losing your toe if it gets infected.

@ilovedogs1401 I dont know why they used a long needle. maybe its because of a factor of how your toe was. They used a long one needle on mine too. I think its because of what they put in the needle or something. and they had to numb my toe 6 times 3 near the back of the toe and 3 at the infected spot which i later found out it was staph infection. 0_o

@ItsPinkly i wanted to see what i did yo im 14 to mines was infected and it killed bc he put to much anesthesia and he cudent put no more and it still hurt a lil but not 2 bad but it burned like hell when he put the anesthesia in but he put a lil spray anisthesia so it didint hurt as much but the nail in mine was like the size of a dime it hurt like hell after several removals without the surgery just cutting it now all better but i still havent taking the gauze off got it done couple hours ago

@njnolan1 yes wear shoes that fit that dont push ur nails toward ur skin, also avoid big fat people stepping on ur toe, thats how i got it, some fat guy stepped on my toe that i had to go to the doctor to remove skin

@MrTHEBINARYBANDIT Yes. It will certainly get your attention. If you're having this done, bring a rubber ball or a tennis ball to squeeze when they stick the needle in. It only hurts for a few seconds. After that, the anesthetic kicks in and you don't feel it. You will feel it when he moves to another spot, though.

I had this done today, I was shit scared- with good reason.
1) When the surgeon injects your toe(s) he injects you three times into the muscle and different points. This is the worst part of the operation. It hurts like a mo fo but you toe goes completely numb afterwards.
2) DO NOT WATCH THE OPERATION . Watch the injections if you like, but not the op itself. You cannot feel anything, so just trust the guy.
3) Be warned, it hurts a lot afterwards. Do everything the doc says.
