  • If you have problems folding your hakama, you should sew all the pleats before you wear it.

    Hope that helps :-)

  • Yes it is true. it helps.

    Thanks for comment

  • LOL in all video on how to fold a hakama you see hakama looks perfect. When I take mine off is a complete mess. The hard part is not folding it, but prepare it to be fold LOL

  • This Hakama was after training.

Many many many depends from the material from witch hakama is made. Original Japanese Hakamas fold automatically alone :)

  • Unfortunately not mine :( It is a very thin hakama which tends to lose the pleads very easily. I even gave up folding the 4 belts coz they are so thin that the tie in the middle just become a whole big ball LOL. But it looks nice on me :) (kidding).

  • thank you very much for moaking this video.I really needed to see it a few more times^^

  • hehe Thanks, I personally do almost the same way but it gives me fun

  • does it really take that long to fold the hakamma ?

  • You can just put Hakama in Your bag.. but If You do something more then just trainings then You should fold it. You should respect others students just like Your own Gi or Hakama. It is not a Valetudo pink panties! there are also few others ways to fold correctly Hakama. and like Hakama are made from different materials so some are easy to fold other not.

  • One of my Sensei's very old cotton hakama's takes 30 minutes to fold properly... But his new one takes a minute or two.

  • Material of the hakama is very important.

  • The material of the hakama is very important.

  • Thanks for posting this video! It is very informative. I could never get the hakama flat enough, but now I see I should manually arrange the pleats in the back, as well as the front. Very nice technique.
