Hey Kwonkicker, i watch a ton of your videos and find them really helpful. I was wondering on these exercises how many sets are you doing of each exercise. Just one each till failure?
This is a great thing you do. I was injured about 7 months ago, and i had to maove away from my school. I'm just starting to practice again, because I'm without my instructor, I would have no way to make sure I'm using correct technique, If it wasn't for your videos.
I need help...anyone please. I am ranked at 2nd degree black belt...yet I have been training wrong for 11 years making it extremely difficult to relearn.
Would you recommend doing all the exercises in this vid in one session? And, what rest time between exercises would you suggest? Thanks for another great vid!
Hey dude thanks for making these videos they are VERY helpful. You were right. my kicking is way more powerful and my jumping is ridiculous lol Even bein a smoker this also helped my cardio a ton!!! Keep up the good work bro.
Thx so much!!! i needed help on taekwondo and these kind of kicks for a long time i really love to sparr and fight but not ignorantly and know i know the right way to do these video's is their anyway how i can download these video's on my ipod?
Beutiful tips and tutorials :), Just a question, Is any of this comparable to plyometrics? What I mean is are there any differences / benefits of either?
Hi, I'm so glad I found your videos. You are very helpful. :)
I have a question for you. About 2 years ago I had an accident and broke my ankle, and am finally realizing I need an ankle support. I'm a Taekwondo student, so obviously we jump and practice many explosive kicks, board breaks, and heavy sparring. I would like to find something for maximum mobility (for round-kicks, etc.) So I was wondering what kind of ankle support you would advise?
@XoxCoutureAngelxoX Any type of ankle support made for kickboxing. They offer support, but are flexible enough for mobility. I usually go with Nationman brand or Top King brand.
Alright Guys here is a break down of this videos in a Workout Routine Feet Lift 2min - 2:34 Strength Jump 2min - 3:02 Momentum Jump 2min - 3:36 Strength Jumping Drill 3min 5:45 -Light bouncing -Switch every 10sec -Increase switches and repeat One leg hops- BOTH LEGS 2min - 9:00 Rapid Feet lift 1min - 10:00 Heel Touch 1min 10:38 Inner foot touch 1min - 10:52 Mario Jumps 1min -11:22 Squat Jumps 1min - 13:20 Momentum Drills 3min - 15:10 About a 20 min workout THUMPS UP FOR EVERYONE!
@BeatRider44 I can get a lot of height when I jump off the knee I hit with. I jump off my right leg and since that leg is already extended (or cocked) right after i leave the floor, all i do is snap it up to what i want to hit. It takes practice and its not as fast but its a good way to train
I am recovering from an injury on my right ankle, I have full movement now, do you think I can engage in these drills. by the way i got injured about one month ago
thanks for all the informative tutorials i have learned allot... any chance in the future for a tutorial on jumping front kicks or on muay thai knee strike techniques?
Hey, Kwonkicker, I trained in WTF TKD for a couple of years then I hurt my back after a few failed 540 kicks (I'm a teenager). How would you recommend getting back to martial arts?
@Veng3ence That's because they aren't "socks". They are ankle supports, designed to help brace the ankle for forceful impact. Like jumping, explosive footwork or kicking with full force. Now you know the point of them. ^.-
hey kwonkicker i have question : every time i bounce in a side stance my knee starts making a wird sound like if it had something wrong at firts it was just when i bounce but its starting to hurt when i walk down the stairs and i dont know what it is i dont know if you can help me ?
Man, I can do the hopping-type exercises, but I haven't got anywhere near enough air to kick my butt / touch my soles before I'm already starting my descent towards earth.
I really appreciate your tutorials. I live in a small rural town and the closest martial arts training facility to me is about 40 miles away, too far for me to be able to attend with any regularity. Your channel is my favorite one to use for training so please the tutorials coming!
I have right now 2 bones on the table of my foot broken, so its no training for 5 weeks.
This accident happened again because of my weak ankles.
Can you please do a video on ankle and srist strength/ durablity because i sprain my ankles so often and its annoying as ************* because i have to skip training because of the pain then... I use same kinda supports as you have on in this video btw
I'm a 1st dan bb in TKD and studied martial arts in other fields such as Penchak Silat, Tai Chi, and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and enjoy watching your vids.
The one thing I love about Kwon Kickers tutorials is that they are universal to any style of fighting out there.
I do Boxing and Muay Thai (adding wrestling to the mix soon). Though flying techniques are not in our main arsenal, having the strength that plyometric exercises give you will teach the fighter how to be light on his/her feet and move around more efficiently, in fact we do similar exercises at the Boxing gym along side with skipping.
@AznboiY2J No matter what style you are, or what style of kicks you do, this will help to improve your explosiveness for your kicking techniques. The more conditioned your calves and thighs are, the stronger and faster you'll be able to spring off the ground with the foot of your kicking leg before you kick, increasing the velocity of the strike.
@kwonkicker i know its not a biggie. anyway hey can you do a 720 hook? if so could you possibly make a tutorial for it? (i know youve done a 540 hook tutorial)
hey kwonkicker why do your feet tick to the ground? i have noticed every time they seperate from the ground the make a sound as if they were on something sticky.
NICE =D! It worked out well =D! I am not a good jumper, & I jump really low. So, yes, I'm more grounded XD. Will really incorporate this on my training for sure =D!
@Loyal2law Thanks! And yeah, I was able to salvage the footage for the most part. But I think the overheating caused a few glitches and also caused the footage to shake at times, even though the camera was on cement on a tripod. Hopefully that problem will correct itself as the months get cooler here in the US.
@kwonkicker There were some glitches, yes, but really negligible. They were part of the editing anyways. i can definitely relate to you on the hot weather. I'm already baked brown T_T. Too bad that the summer heat will be at its peak next month >_>.
@kwonkicker i dont know if it works with tapes, but if a computer/or laptops hard drive overheats from what ive herd putting it in a freezer till its cooled down can save the data from it
i tried the balls of your feet jump before and it had some side effects like my right foot felt flat and kind of hurts when i wear some shoes i can feel the difference between my foots.
Another great vid. Thanks for sharing man,
Peace
