I was in Iraq, but as a soldier let me name some the the things I experienced.
1. giving prisoners an education.
2. building schools. roads, and buildings in Iraq
3. giving the Iraqi's a Democracy!!!!!
4. Iraq has an 80 Billion Dollar Surplus while the U.S. has no money left.
5. The Iraqi's have Government Elections.
1.The average American works 8 hours a day.
2. The average Iraqi works 2 hours a day.

Using 9/11 to defend the war in Iraq is like saying that it's okay for Iraq to bomb Amsterdam just because they're white, too. One has nothing to do with the other; the government was counting on everyone's post-9/11 anger to make us look the other way. They were counting on everyone's ignorance. I happen to be all for helping Iraq if they want us to step in... but do your research. Respond intelligently. Why didn't we step in and help when millions were slaughtered in Rwanda by machetes?

Whether you're pro-war or against, the TALIBAN have nothing to do with Iraq -- they're from Afghanistan. Furthermore, there is NO PROOF that Saddam ever conspired with al-Qaeda; there are only allegations. 9/11 and Saddam are two completely different issues. I'm anti-war, but I am pro-defense. I'm against interfering in other cultures, but I'm pro-rescue if we're asked for help. Too many people are fighting for the wrong reason. EDUCATE YOURSELVES ON WHAT YOU'RE FIGHTING FOR.

From Jan. 10 - like the 18th, we had a pretty neat surge of people driving offroad towards side entrances. This was a nono. If they were not military personnel you shot at them. Sometimes they realized they were being shot, and left. Sometimes they kept going and their cars would be turned to swiss cheese. Fun stuff.

I was there. Been there, done that, got the seven brown t-shirts and silly medals. I support the troops - not the war - because I was one. Many don't want to be there, they hate the war. I want the fighting to stop. I will be going there soon to marry the sweet Kurdish Iraqi man I worked with while I was deployed. I will be living there, seeing first-hand the life there.

Gambling and sex with non-coalition persons is against the Uniform Code Of Military Justice and any US military personnel can be severly punished for doing so. I am for withdrawal but surely we should consider the aftermath of what happens when we leave. I believe your view that ALL problems in Iraq are caused by the US is naïve and an immediate withdrawal will lead to violence (both civil and international) on a scale that will make the current bloodshed pale in comparison.
