Ickey's my uncle. Married my dad's baby sister Chandra. He tore his left knee up on a hit by Rod Woodson in the second week of the '89 season. Then he tore up the other knee in the '91 preseason. The injury in '89 was really the more severe, but by the time he hurt his right knee, my uncle just wasn't as effective. His getting cut after the '91 season kinda went hand in hand with Sam Wyche losing his job...

If not for injuries, who knows how long he'd have been a dominant back. Bo Jackson wasn't called a "one-season wonder" because people know he could've/would've been a Hall of Famer had he not gotten hurt...
