Ive done this for a year now and lost 78 lbs and went from 30% bf to 11% with great muscle mass. 3 sets x 5 exersices = 15 Sets.
1 set is 20 seconds, 20 x 15 = 300.
300 Devided by 60 seconds ( a minit) = 5 Min.
So 5 difrent exersices for the chest, 20 seconds pr set ( 8 reps) and 3 sets pr exersice. = 5 min.
So are you willing to say under 5 min of work your body goes in to catabolic?

Im talking from knowlage, my exprience. Id Urg you to try working out for 2-3 hrs and get your results, and see what you get.

i have tried working out, extreme amounts of stretching and also different meal variations to try to make some kind of difference, even changing sleeping habits.

I have pretty much effortlessly maintained that weight-loss, including over the holidays (for the first time ever, I did not gain any weight over X-mas). Vicky, I don't know what diet you are talking about but that is definitely not what he teaches in eat stop eat. You are supposed to fast for a minimum 24 hours and when you eat it should be normal. You are overeating it sounds like. By doing that you are doing more harm than good. and try every 4 or 5 days for 24 hours instead of every other day. I did this and it worked well.
I assume the subjects were in some sort of fasted state prior to the placebo/sugar/fat test?
Also, if sugar intake only marginally impacted GH compared to placebo (and what about this test on a totally fasted subject -- aspartame could still have an impact right?), then the next question would be: are there any benefits to having glucose/fructose already in the body immediately after a workout, right?

@djyasume1 I have been, I gain one extra rep everytime i hit the gym. all i can say is, people usaly talk from information, what theyv been told. But they never acutly tried it them self's, thats what iv been doing. Testing it. And from my exprience, Information thats being passed down to us, alot of it is wrong.

@gokunarutosal yeah dont train that long. i used to do that. you may feel like its working but thats imply because youre just going to the gym getting stronger instead of sitting at home. 1 hour tops. hit the weight hard. more than that makes you enter a catabolic start where your body starts consuming itself just to fuel for those extra 6 hours youre doing

Say you do 5 exersices for the chest. 3 sets, 8 reps. 1 set takes you 20 seconds to do 8 reps, and 3 sets for all the 5 difrent exersices for the chest
3 sets x 5 exersices = 15 Sets.
1 set is 20 seconds, 20 x 15 = 300.
300 Devided by 60 seconds ( a minit) = 5 Min.
So 5 difrent exersices for the chest, 20 seconds pr set ( 8 reps) and 3 sets pr exersice. = 5 min.
So are you willing to say under 5 min of work your body goes in to catabolic?

@djyasume1 What im geting to at is, The break is alot longer then the work. Your not under the weight for 1 hr at the gym, Not even half the time the time you spend the gym, are you doing work. Just 2 min breaks, followed by 20 second being under the weight.
Football games last at least 3 hrs, and those guys dont seem to be in a catablic state, so far iv been geting stronger.
What's your take on it?

@gokunarutosal shit dude, you are prob losing muscle working out for that long. 45mins it sufficient, as after that your body eats away at your muscles. also, muscles build during rest, so get plenty of it! i train 3 times a week, 60misn sessions including warm up

@drew2pac For that long, only like 20 seconds before you drop the weight then you take a 2 min rest. something like cardio, where you keep at it without break causes you to lose protien after a while. Im talking from knowlage, my exprience. Id Urg you to try working out for 2-3 hrs and get your results, and see what you get.
( it takes me 4 days to recover from what muscle group i worked on that day btw )

i have tried working out, extreme amounts of stretching and also different meal variations to try to make some kind of difference, even changing sleeping habits.
I have yet to grow any taller in the last couple years, i'm 21 and still only 5'10, about 155-160 lbs. My shoulders have gotten wider and bigger, and same with my arms, a little more defined throughout the rest of my body.
My one real wish since i was like 16 was to be taller, all of my friends passed me up a long time ago..

Okay, thanks for the info but I'd really prefer to read a proper section on this from a college biobook. What is the placebo?? In general a placebo pill that a doctor gives a patient is just a fake (a pill with nothing to affect you). So this means the placebo here is what? And it increased the GH lv more than glucose and fat ? We know carbs give quicker energy to the muscles than fat so rather have that for the best workout energy. Still, working out on an empty stomach???? Need more info!!!

Also i heard from a video that the good hormones that build muscle and such asre highest right when the sun goes down and you should go to bed then so you gain more of there effect. I guess the reasoning behind that would be because of the brain thinking its time for sleep because of the lack of light.

It's configured a little differently, but I'd say it's about the same, unfortunately. Sucrose - regular table sugar - is 50% glucose, 50% fructose, whereas the sugar in a pear is about 65% fructose, 27% glucose, and 8% sucrose (which breaks down into glucose and sucrose in the small intestine).
Fructose, in the small amounts provided in, say, 1-2 servings of fruit daily, will improve your insulin sensitivity and help with weight loss.

I actually do my workout during the morning on my fasting day (i start my fast after supper the previous night). How does this affect my GH levels? As far as energy is concerned, I feel fine during and after my workout.

hi, I tried this diet , but I was eating every other day and sometimes I would fast only 18 hrs. I actually gained weight at times, b/c i ate anything and everything i wanted on the fed days. But it was getting weird doing it every other day. Are you losing oon this diet?

I started this in September of 2008. I lost about 20 pounds in the beginning. Without working out. I have pretty much effortlessly maintained that weight-loss, including over the holidays (for the first time ever, I did not gain any weight over X-mas). I am on my 3rd week of working out at the gym. I haven't lost any more weight, but I can feel my muscles beginning to firm up and my face is a little thinner. I have also been doing it 3 times a week and i haven't been rigid on the 24-hours...

Vicky, I don't know what diet you are talking about but that is definitely not what he teaches in eat stop eat. You are supposed to fast for a minimum 24 hours and when you eat it should be normal. You are overeating it sounds like. By doing that you are doing more harm than good. and try every 4 or 5 days for 24 hours instead of every other day. I did this and it worked well.

I assume the subjects were in some sort of fasted state prior to the placebo/sugar/fat test?
Also, if sugar intake only marginally impacted GH compared to placebo (and what about this test on a totally fasted subject -- aspartame could still have an impact right?), then the next question would be: are there any benefits to having glucose/fructose already in the body immediately after a workout, right?
