JrDnDenmark, you missed the point. The Friars are no gospel group. Gavin's stiffness and his great, sharp tenor voice and the other comical elements make this performance exactly what it is - a unique Friar experience. No room for soul here. Watch the other Friars videos on Youtube, then you can see where they're coming from. I'm even guessing that Gavin's not even from a Jesus-worshipping religion which would add another comical element to this performance. But I might be wrong on that part.
