  • 8:46 cool shot!!!

  • As a 3 year old i told my mother to come look at my 'stripy lizard'. When she finally came over this lizard i had been playing with on a small stick (it climbing back and forth along the stick towards my hand) it licked my palm. Mum took me to hospital with the decapitated baby. they said it was a desert death adder and it didnt bite me as i would have been dead. After seeing your snakes lunge so fast, makes me see how very lucky i am that in the desert heat it hadn't lunged and bit me.

  • Nice colors on those little guys.

  • Wouldnt it be cool , if DNA scientists could manipulate the dna of a king cobra to gradually increase the height of its skull , eventually making them as friendly as a puppy..? Seems thats what has been done with us ...and we are still a work in progress..

  • Mentioning New Guinea, reminds me of a really cool video, a little bit different subject, but its here on youtube, type in stone age tribe meets white man for the first time...these people have never seen matches, never seen anything made from plastic, or metal...they are afraid when they see things we take for granted .Modern things seem to spook the herd..then check out skinny bob, a real alien ET from the Roswell crash...they dont want to spook us either, contact is slow and gradual.thanks

  • Do you get immune after getting bitten for quiet a while??

  • @deathundone No..unless your very very lucky to survive the bites.

  • @viperkeeper U tried Venom Defender gloves? I watched YT commercial + it seems like a good product and I would be good when you have to handle more snakes than usual. It gave protection for Gaboon Viper, Fear De Lance and King Cobra..I found an interesting video called " Snake-catchers - the dangerous life of the Irulas | Global 3000" it how they produce anti-venom in large quantities. U should see the sizes of their Cobras and Russels Vipers. Also have U seen the "Sawyer Venom Extractor Pump"?

  • @LottoWinner999 Don't waste your life or money on either of these products

VD gloves IMO do have a failure rate. I know people who have been bitten throught them.

The Sawyer has been clinically show to cause more damage then if you don't use them.

  • @viperkeeper Thanks I appreciate the information but I know someone who had luck with the Sawyer Kit which works better if U have help. I live in Scottsdale Arizona and he was bit buy a Mojave Green and almost died. But he was in Yuma Arizona were they have one the best emergency center and hospital for rattlesnake bites. Plus there well stocked with Mojave Green, Western Diamond and Pacific Rattlesnakes but they need new people to collect Anti-Venom and they pay well for dangerous work.

  • @LottoWinner999 It's been medically disqualified as useful at all. By Dr. Sean Bush, Venom ER on AP

  • @viperkeeper Let me tell U about my encounter with Sakishima-Habu at Kedena AFB Okinawa1966. I was 18 + orientation did not cover the dangers of the S-Habu snake. I was asleep + about 3 O'clock in the morning I had a throbbing pain on my back. It was a S-Habu bite + it was cold so it crawled in my bed while asleep. I roled on top of him + he gave all the venom he had. They cut his head off to release his bite. I was in the hospital for 8 weeks + almost died. Thats why I am terrified of snakes.

  • @viperkeeper

What exactly do you do after being bitten by any of your snakes? have you ever had a clos call?

  • @Vocabuliser375 It's different from snake to snake. I don't have time for the details.

  • is this in australia?

  • @craicrazy No

  • i should take this bloke to the pub and ask him if he wants a beer and tip it on his head lmao

  • now just image keeping sea snakes that would be like impossible

  • Wow, the commentary on this one is pretty straight forward. But wow, those snakes look like they mean business, I wouldn't cross those even in a well lit alley, let alone a dark one.

  • I flinched.

  • Hey Viperkeeper, Have you ever been tagged by a venomous snake outside or in your facility?

  • at 3:13 you can see a little small white bug crawling on a piece of bark lol

  • i look up to you

  • @01050g Thanks..I don't know if I'm worthy

  • @viperkeeper yes you are bc you have so meny deadly snakes and your not dead yet after so years and years

  • @viperkeeper yes you are bc you have so meny deadly snakes and your not dead yet after so years and years lol

  • I would not breed these poisonous animals. Who are the crazy people who buy these snakes?

  • you are crazy holding all those snakes

  • are those dried leaves?

  • @xxxruzzelxxx Not sure, I have not watched this video in a long time.

  • do u have mite problems with your snake

  • death adders are one of my favorites just because of looks, and that they have a pretty good feeding response also.

  • Which species of venomous snake has the most impressive strike? I do not refer to venom potency....

  • @l7lll Common Lancehead or Taipan

  • @l7lll i actully think i liked the pacastan viper the best personaly (sorry about the spelling)

  • Hey Veiperkeeper.

i have been searching, and looking for a video.

was wondering if you have a video of a snake biting you?

by the way DEATH ADDERS RULE!

    one of my fav elapid.

    exellent ven collection.

  • @ReptileHabitat ya he does

  • He's a big girl? WUT?!

  • Beautiful ambush predator. They strike a ton dont they

  • Beautiful ambush predator

  • How many snakes have you been bitten by????? Im terrified of Snakes but enjoy watching them on TV and YouTube

  • This may be a dumb question, but have you ever had one strike JUST AS you pull the drawer out? Just the thought of that makes me queasy.

  • @brnleague99 Well of course it's a dumb question. If you watch the intro to any video in the past year the first snake is striking out of a bin at my hand.

  • @viperkeeper Thanks Al. *grin*

  • @viperkeeper

Don't you ever get tired of your attitude?

  • @Popplerocks No, but I do get tired of dealing with morons on a regular basis.

  • Damn man, no fear whatsoever of the most deadliest snakes :o

  • Where do you get your artificial plants? you have some very cool looking foliage that ive never seen at any pet store reptile shop or online.

  • What kind of snake is that at 7:03?

  • @deanmlshredder Rough Death Adder (A.rugosus)

  • Can I become a snake specialist for a profession? How well does it pay? and what classes will I have to take in college for it?

  • Six dislikes, I personally don't see hoe anyone could dislike any of this mans videos! Al is a great and passionate man, and I've onlt sean him on here and can tell that! And him educating and bringing us great entertainment that the whole family can enjoy speaks volumes about this man! He does this out of the goodness of his heart and I thank him fromthe bottom of my heart! You don't have to enjoy snkakes to enjoy his videos, just enjoy animals and treating them with respect, and you'll love it

  • @Keithattal5 Amen. his videos are great :)

  • How far north can venomous snakes live and what are they? Excepting the Palin variety, any others in Alaska?

  • @castingtherunes They live and are seen on the snow in the Artic Circle. Sweden I think is where they can be seen on the snow in the spring.

  • @viperkeeper can spitting cobras bite and will it be venomous

  • @sk3l3tonlng Absolutely

  • @sk3l3tonlng Absolutely

  • What king of snake is Scarlet.

  • @TheLogic497 Red Spitting Cobra

  • How many snakes do you have in your collection

  • You're a brave man. I love snakes.......from a distance..)

  • your voice in slowmo haha i actualy loled

  • have your ever collected any snakes from the wild or visit places like PNG to observe snakes in their natural habitat?

  • @trainmaster500 Yes, I've been all over the world.

  • WARM AND MOIST!

  • 8:47 AWESOME POWER OF NATURE!

  • at 3:14 theres a tiny bug at the bottom of the screen. watch from 3:10 to 3:17. on the substrate.

  • A type of fly...no worries

  • Warm and moist... Love it Al!

  • I'd love to know what that funny twitching is that death adders do after striking. I wonder if they're injecting more venom.

  • are these native to australia?

  • Papua

  • you was bitten by these in ur comment it says that and what else if any have u been bit by

  • Whoa that death adder strike was just like lightning, I never knew they were that fast.Love your videos Al, keep up the good work :)

  • im wondering i always thought russells viper cause the most deaths in asia ?

  • hey want 2 get naked and play with me? 19 female looking for the right gringo

  • Scarlett seems do animated when ever you film her. Is that typical of a red spitter or is she just a high energy gal?

  • Cobras are high energy snakes...active hunters.

  • we like it warm and moist dont we all guys lmao classic.!!

  • I find it disturbing that Scarlett can strike "normally"

A world where Cobras don't have to "Bob for apples" to strike is a scary place... imo.

  • I love vipers they are by far my fav type of snake and another great video of another from you. And after years of getting experience and keeping reptiles I am going to get my first venomous snake and my favorite of all snakes. A desert horned viper (Cerastes cerastes) after getting with flying colours my DWA license and I am very excited to be keeping one of these must be respected at all times animals and certainly as you viperkeeper say many times totally not a pet.

  • Hello Al, I'm quite interested to have some info concerning the Atheris ceratophora, could you please be so kind to let me know in which way i can keep this specie in the best way? tnx in advanced

  • haha its all about warm and moist for me 2

  • you always say ahh when they bite your nerves must be shot out lol.

  • did u have a Halloween party with them ?

the last one has a Mask-like coloration...again perfect footage....just wow

    thanks for sharing with us

  • Another great video!

Next to Mr. Brown, I think Scarlet is my favorite of your snakes.

  • hahahaaahahahah lol 4:05 lol ncie we do

  • 20$ a bag ,Wow,the last time i bought that was at a reptile show in daytona ,and bought some animals and ended up leaving it there lol,but what I wanted to say was they sell the same stuff(orchid bark) at home depot 2.99 a bag, forget what size but it's way cheaper. I just strain it a little and it's fine

  • How nice! Death adder vid on the day I flip my calendar! Perfect timing, as always, Al. Surprised no one else mentioned it. Looking soooo forward to my new ones. Love the beautiful green mambas. Amazing colors. Amazing vid.

  • hots seem a lot more swiched on than the boas i keep, it dosnt matter how they grab a rat thats how its being ate. one insits on eating them side ways an it wont let me help eather lol

  • fantastic creatures

  • I am just in love with the genus Acanthophis. One day I am going to have a nice collection. Thank God this big Death Adder guy in Switzerland lives really close to me.

  • Why don´t you glue a plastic "stroke" on the lower side in the front of those plastic cages? Now you have to slide them out with your fingers near the top which increases the change you get bitten.

    Nice vids by the way

  • Great vid as always :)

That death a. can strike wicked fast, it startled me lol

  • wow they can strike quickly. definately not like an angry baby boa or carpet python where you can be quick enough to move out the way.

  • where r the water bowls p.s i love ur vivs and care 4 ur animals

  • many snakes get hand watered by using the squeeze bottle

  • What is the advantage of that?

    Also can snakes get fat?

Thanks for answering all of my questions.

  • The advantage of hand watering is that unlike using a bowl exclusively, you can monitor the snake's water intake. That way you know that they are staying hydrated. A bowl can be deceiving, as the water evaporates, leaving you thinking that they are drinking when they may not be. Yes, if a snake is overfed they can become obese. It is important to monitor the snake's intake to maintain a proper weight.

  • Thank you.

  • Another great video mate, those wee vipers in the round tub look fantastic!

  • now Al i know you don't keep non venomous but i don't suppose you'd ever consider keeping Gilas or Beadeds?

  • Not really, they're over priced and require different care and environment.

  • Hey Al, quick question - But first let me say the adders and all, are simply looking fat and Sassy! I've read about two bites lately from a Lachesis, in Brazil. The one guy was bitten in the top of the head, That had to be rough! But I was curious if you will ever get one of these ( Lachesis ) or do you want to? My only assumption would be, because they are commonly know to reach over 2.5 meters, space may be an issue for you - IDK?Whats your thoughts on this? Thanks, ~Lee

  • Ouch! How did he manage that? They require some conditions I cannot manage in my current facility. One is space for sure.

  • Usambara bush vipers! Awesome. Surprised you poked it with your finger though. It seems to me that you aren't concerned with the venom of certain species nearly as much as others. Like when Mr. Mangrove tagged ya. I can't see you playing around with say, Kermit with your feet like that.

  • Hope that you and your precious critters are having a good Halloween!

  • Can the snake release the pinky and bite you ? Or does it simply cling onto it and get out of the way ?

  • Possible but not likely

  • Love the coloration on the South African Green Mambas. Such vivid color. The spitter was also nice. Seemed very well behaved there.

  • It's NO "Little Red"

  • red spitters andcoral cobras look similar huh?

a viper like elapid, now we need elapid like vipers

btw how do you know if they (mambas) are genetically distinct do you breed them? i had some other qs but i forgot

  • You compare their DNA

  • Really like the looks of the new mambas Al.

  • can i just say that your collection of snake is just amazing.

  • Great as always, Viper. Happy Halloween!

  • I see come mites on the chippings in the Adders' boxes. Is it normal to have those? I have the same bedding for my snake too, just a bit concerned, although I've never seen any insects in my viv. Thanks...

    I love scarlet, she's a cutie :-)

  • Those are from the substrate. I am testing a hardwood bark substrate. They are NOT snake mites.

  • Scarlett is absolutely gorgeous!

Nice collection of Deathies there, bud. Got any Aussie deathies??

Would love to see the Finger Rotters again sometime

    Happy Halloween :-)

  • Al, Nice Video...have you mentioned where you purchase the water bottles you use to water your snakes?? (If so disreguard)...I'll find it.

    Pete

  • I sell them

  • i love the video

  • Nice adders dude. Was just wondering, aren't you worried about them pushing those tubs out at all? Just curious

  • No, not at all

  • Warm and moist. I see what you did there... ;)

  • Al wonderful video! one question, min 9.30 this is not the first time I see this, after the snake strikes, she moves the head one side to the other, do you know why? I saw it also in one of your videos feeding a PNG smooth add.

    thanks

    fernando

  • Siece getting Scarlet has she spat at you? and when breeding season happens with her are you gonna breed her or no? she's getting really big your PNG death Adders are amazing strikers there has been alot of info that i have gotten from watching your vid's always great job

  • No, she has been good so far. I don't plan to breed her..

  • Have you ever had one snake fighting another snake?

  • Yeah, usually when food is present..

  • Yet another nice selection of reptiles for our viewing pleasure.....Thanks.
