  • bill cosby is the man...so is pudding.

  • @themoshmenace look it up in a good dictionary.

  • so does the apostrtophe after Ol (i.e. in ol') replace the d or the e??????

  • OLE is a common mangling of old - for example in the Grand Ole Opry ???

Its just a written form of how many pronounce it.

Great track though - dancefloor filler in the UK, and I thought it WAS a major US Top 10 hit?

  • @DoctorRadio - You're right, It reached #4 on Billboard in 1967.

  • @themoshmenace - Oh good, I thought it was my screw up, but I read the label correctly...even though IT was wrong.

  • Happy 73rd Birthday Bill! Support the Cos!

  • Anybody have Funky North Philly available?

  • Mindless but catchy.

  • My sister got this record in the fall of '67 and played it constantly.

  • I had been searching for this record for years at record shows and record shops but nobody ever had it. I found this one last week at a Salvation Army Store in VG+ condition for 49¢.

  • @VinylNostalgia

i had to get mine mail order (stereo reissue)

then years later in mono at a used record store...

  • I need to pick this up sometime soon.

  • I just remembered that Stevie Wonder made an appearance on the Cosby show. I wonder (no pun intended) if they discussed this song at the taping.

  • Bill Cosby should have really recorded more tunes like this- this one peaked at #4 on the Billboard Hot 100 in October 1967 - but after a successful TV, movie and nightclub career, the singing career just falls by the wayside-

  • He took another stab at this in the mid 70s. Look somewhere (good luck) for a Cosby tune called "Yes Yes Yes" where he did a sendup of Barry White.

  • @actionsub The Cos had several singles out from 1965 all the way to 1977.

  • @VinylNostalgia a few of his routines were put on 45 rpm's and not chart toppers

i think he was a one hit wonder

  • YES, I remember that tune - released in 1976 on the Capitol label -

  • @christheone8773 we talkin about yes yes yes?

you should hear him do sgt pepper

  • @actionsub look for KCMN on the web they play this and Yes yes Yes every so often on the AIR.

    This one aired on Tuesday.
