2D animator here. The beginning is great. I wish you guys shot from a lower angle. Secondly, however, the walk cycle is horrible. There's no secondary motion to give it a bit of life, like the growl to give it fearsomeness. You make it waddle like a duck. Take much larger strides and bend that ankle. Use an ostrich as a reference. Cheers!

He's always scarred the shit outta me, Just seems like daleks, life of its own, doesnt respond to human behaviour, and the mechanics are shabby but effective when executed. The whole movement, stance and posture is aggresive, but definately a star in itself

Actually, it does because the design for ED is called a "chicken walker", which is basically the two feet bent in the middle to simulate a chicken walk, which brings increased stability to the robot rather than it standing 100% straight. The chicken walker model was also used in Star Wars for the AT-ST designs featured in Return of the Jedi.

The arm turrets feature ammo packages and hammer locks which are supposed to revolve and lock into place. Neither happened.

This is why dispite the brilliant detailing, it lacks real authenticity in it's motion.

The legs of ED209 are built so they can extend during walking because as a chicken walker, it needs the extra length to gain speed. There are also locks because these joints are fluid and these locks must close when stationary so it doesn't tumble about and the turret/guns remain accurate.
