i havent seen not one definitive answer for what this opening is parodying, to me, it reminded me of sailor moon, with all of the silhouette transformation shots, and how each girl is a different color.

but i think one poster had it right, its just a parody of all the animes with cute girls fighting evil, (thx Poopcorn5), so i guess sailor moon would fall in there somewhere
