Millions of Latinos are fully descended from Spaniards, French, Portuguese, Italian, German, Swiss, etc. There are 200 million White people in Latin America, so there is no "ideal" example of Latino. If you are from the U.S., you are probably thinking of a Mestizo when you think of a Latino. Mestizos are half Native American/half White European, and comprises the majority of Hispanics in the U.S.. Also Latino originally is European from the Romans.

Hispanic was put in place by the Nixon administration in the United States for a name for the new Spanish speaking people entering the U.S. regardless of race. But the majority of people entering the U.S. for work were Mestizos and Native Americans, not White Latinos or Black Latinos for the most part. In Latin America, most people know that Hispanic just means a Spanish speaking country with language related to Spain.

I am constantly amazed by how "Latino" or "Hispanic" groups conveniently exclude the black groups of Latin America. If one is determined to be identified only as a "Latino" or "Hispanic" actor, then he will continue to hit a brick wall unless he just enters the world of Spanish language film or TV, but he often refuses that option.
I do not hear white or black actors in the U.S. constantly talking about Europe or Africa. They have integrated fully.

The majority of people in Spain are R1b and are related to other western Europeans. There was a genetic study done in Spain and there was only 5% of the total population that had Moorish ancestry, and 11% who had Jewish ancestry, so that means that 84% of Spain's population is strictly White European. That is Whiter than the U.S..

Latin Americans would rule out Spaniards from Spain, but not their White descendents from Latin America. It gets kinda complicated. Spaniards from Spain are Hispanic but not Latin American. Well, the Moors were the latest--they occupied Spain for 700 years. That's enough time for plenty of generational inter-breeding and mestisaje of the races, hello! There has been several Dna studies on the Iberian peninsula, including both Spain and Portugal. The most recent up to date study concluded that only 5% of the entire Iberian peninsula which includes both Spain and Portugal, had Moorish Berber/Arab ancestry. Jewish ancestry was found at 11% of the peninsula. 84% of the peninsula was only European.

Aren't all Hispanics of Caucasian decent? I mean when the Spanish conquistadors defeated the Indians and took their gold, they bred with the native women. It's cool if you want to play the victim card though. I only have to live on this PC world for another 50-60 years hopefully we can all get along in the next life or if there isn't one then ill be fine with eternal sleep.

the reason why there are not enough hispanic actors is because most shows are produced, or directed by white people. If we want to see more of our people on tv, we need more latino producers. and even when we have some latino producers they want to make the main character white.

Truth be said. there are Spanish in Latin America and the Caribbean but there are blacks and indigenous people ho call themselves Spanish or Latin simply because they speak Spanish. there are plenty of blacks in the united states that speak English yet they don't call themselves Englishmen.
