Bill is a champion in and out of the ring.I had the honor of meeting Bill in a Frankfort Seminar, and he was super polite, respectful, and god hes in awesome shape at his age.I was in great shape while attending his clinic, but by the time it was over, I felt like a train had hit me.Still, it was alot of fun, and I learned alot.Thank you Bill Wallace!
@ShawnShaffer Im not sure of his actual age but this guy is bill wallace and hes been fighting since the late 60s with greats like chuck norris joe lewis and don wilson his nick name was the super foot
@ShawnShaffer ok looked it up 3 years in a row american point fighting champion and 15 years undefeeted profesional kickboxing champion with a record of 23 wins, and 0 loses five feet ten and a halfe inches tall 166 pounds and curantly 65 years old
I am Don "the Dragon" Wilson and I fought as a professional kickboxer from 1974 to 2002. Bill was a "mutant" when it came to fighting. He was a great wrestler, puncher, kicker, showed his great speed as a point fighter, studied judo, etc. I fought all over the world and never experienced anyone close to him in physical ability and heart. If you ever get the chance, take his seminar and you will benefit immensely. your friend, Don
@dragondon I went to his seminar. I can guarantee that the person on whom he demonstrated that didn't see that kick. I didn't see it when he sent it my way. I thought I had fast hands from FMA but his trainin' before I was born made me look like a mannequin!
I loved you in (everything but in particular) Say Anything, Dragon. that was one of my favorite movies.
Wallace was somehwere around 48 years old when this seminar was recorded. Imagine kickboxing this guy in his late 20s to early 30s, at his physical peak! He's pushing 50 years old here and he looks so quick, so balanced, so limber and in such great shape. I bet it was down right scary to stand in a ring with a guy this quick and and agile, when was a younger fighter
One thing I love about Bill is that while he has a sort of cocky demeanor (rightfully so) he isn't over the top. He knows his limitations and has made them known, but he has as well adjusted through necessity to them.
You don't get where he's gotten by being dumb that's for damn hook kick sure, lol.
Love when he talks about basically getting the hell away from Tommy Hearns. That's being humble, realistic and smart.
@MuscleBound46 yep, the "appropriate" level of cockiness well earned, i gree. I'm watching the red gi guy... I bet he's not used to being in defensive mode for this long a period of time.
Old guy, so DAMN fast and slick, even with (at least one) old knee injury
his knee was broke early in his carear when he was taking judo or at least thats how I remember it. regardless how would you like to have that speed on a kick?
Only time my leg ever came close to kicking that fast was when I nearly drown in the ocean as a kid and even then mine weren't compromising any Einsteinian theorems like his. Granted I'm sure I treaded a little O2, but this guy's feet are so fast I seriously believe he could challenge Jesus to a 100 meter dash across the Baltic, lol.
I was having fun with the fact that Rickson Gracie claims an impossibly high win record with no losses, without having been in the MMA arena in quite sometime with a ranked opponent.
Superfoot is legend, that much is proven. And so is Rickson, I suppose, as a BJJ teacher, anyway.
I fully grok that our current state of the MMA art is built upon everything and everyone that has been oriented towards the art, whether they became legends or were merely students like myself.
i was not talking about the movie now i was talking about the fact that training to damage someone is really not true master, true mastery is to deffend oneself without causing damage.
There should be no reason to kill or hurt in te process of deffence,
if you want to hurt someone to save someone why would that make your action any better? this is a way of tought i think any real master comes to .
Oooo, I was talking about the movie, i personally dont give a flying fuck about what you said there. Martial arts was born for war or to defend against people who are bred from war, all that philosophy crap is because of the connection of martial arts with religion and philosophy, and the fact that usa invaded japan resulted in them being more peaceful and about control of anger due to invading angry vengeful americans with guns spitting and walking in their lands and dojos.
Japan and the east had long before these so called religions they had philosophy and love .
love and understanding is not something new it is only that people still are using war to nmake money and have power but this knid of power is a weak power. Love understanding and kindness existed even before man kind before christianity before anything.
You degrade japan and the east by saying they were only barbairans who made martial arts for war .
Any road leads to the road of understanding in end of almost everything is the silent wisdom call saying , unite , make friends and protect the weak and streangthen your mind.
Say that to the Samuraii who killed off peasants like mafia, or ask about the Ronin and what they did. Or what they did to china and korea... and the vicious crimes and rape. Japan invaded FOR THEIR EMPEROR THEY ARE SUPERIOR WITH THE HEARTS AND POWER OF THE SAMURAII!!!!! Ehhhhh
Unfortunetly this is what happens when great power either its knowledge or martial arts / weapons come into hands of people who themselves are unwise and not mature enough to wield it.
It is almost everytime like this , no one learns something immidiately , therefore failing is also a part of the process but this does not mean martial arts are bad .
much worse things such as religion exist today as an nessecary evil if you ask me but it helped alot of people as well.
also martial arts do not preach anything these days atleast aikido and teakwando both of which i have seen and i do aikido are not preaching however even still there are some superstion in the martial art but i really do not hear about it so much as you do in religion for instance these things we could do without.
One can conclude that everywhere there has been power there have been people to try to use it for their own weak gains BUT it does not mean martial arts was/is bad for the people.
Actually, it is more of the other way around. Lee studied and analyzed various tournament karate fighters. For example, Lee incorporated the side stance of Joe Lewis. And Wallace studied the same style of shorin-ryu karate as Lewis. That's why Wallace may look like the movie version of Lee. However, unlike other well known champs, Wallace never met or trained with Lee. Thus, the similarity is pure coincidence.
The sick part is that there were probably only a handful (if that) of guys all the way through heavyweight who could have taken him out. I stress the COULD because he certainly has the skills to take down the big boys. Joe Lewis in his PRIME probably would have had too much punching power for Wallace to handle over 7 rounds in a REAL PRIME TIME BOUT, but certainly Wallace could knock anyone out with those kicks. UNGLAUBLICH!!!
My sensei is on the far right about second from the end with the white pants and shirt and black gloves with the slicked back hair next to the guy with the purple shirt.

Bill "Superfoot" Wallace is truly one of a kind. Unlike him and Joe Lewis, today we have very few who could use taekwondo techniques effectively in the kickboxing ring.
He's pure genius! Nowhere near the strongest or fastest fighter, but definitely one of the smartest! his timing is so perfect people just run into his foot or fist and fall down! He just puts them up at the right time.
bill is awesome. when he was doing ju jitsu he had an injury to his right leg (you will never see him throw a right leg kick because of it) and even with that handicap hes still increadible. you don't need complicated techniques. a few, simple effective techniques (the jab, the cross, the front leg side, round, and hook kicks) drilled to absolute perfection in speed and deceptiveness (no telegraphing) are all you need. you just need to properly employ them.
bill wallace is a machine. He did a seminar a couple of years ago in mississippi. the night before he was sick and hip replacement surgery was only two weeks away. At the seminar, you couldn't tell he was in any pain at all or even sick. One year to the day of his surgery he did another seminar and was almost if not already 100%. all of you guys should watch a movie about karate wich changed my view on martial arts in general
its called KURO OBI its a japanese movie watch whole.
it may also be called Black Belt in usa title i am not sure.

the best of the martial arts is not in the movies and thats a great thing to discover .
