to me, fl studio kinda sucks, but fl studio is not there for piano or drums, it's there for drums. usually i use a mixture of mixcraft and fl studio. i use mixcraft for the sounds (such as piano, synths) and I use fl studio for bumps (such as bass and other). But if I had a Mac, I would totally use Logic Pro.

@ThisIsKeef Its not the best, Just the easiest. Makes anyone able to produce beats in a short amount of time but doesn't give you access to make each sound/instrument richer in sound the way you may want. There are other programs like Reason and Garage Band that are much harder to master which is why others do not use them. Personally, I prefer Reason over all DAW's. In short, FL is the best DAW for beginners. If Soulja Boy learned to use Reason, I'm sure he'd have an album of hits.

people bash fl studio users because they're a lot of people that use stock sounds. these guys are just using fl studio to sequence and record. their using their own sounds (kits/ synths)
lots of ppl just use the sounds installed already in fl studio, instead of diggin for their own sounds.

@paulbefc I understand what you mean, there are a lot of uncreative simple beatmakers. And some of them use FL, but not all, thats just a pre-judgement. Truth is that FL has the qualities to make a finished song, you dont need a stamp from a superproducer to make that judgement it's a fact.
I see a lotta whack or uncreative beats being made on mpc's by amateurs (and a couple famous ones) here on youtube, but still there are big songs being made with the MPC's.

Put your hands on lets say reason and play a kick, snare or drum, go back to FL and play the same kick, snare or drum and see which sounds better and real. Experiment

If you are talking about preparing a song and engineering the sound to be just right, then yea the software matters but the composing the idea can be done on any software. I work in a studio, and I don't use reason, logic or protools. I use FL studio and SADiE.

@Stereoslammerz hes using a virus it doesnt come with fl. fl is just to make beats like any other programs. usually its the external gear and or external plugins that make the beat sound good. those drums im sure werent with fl could of been superior drummer they sound to good. and that virus is 2000 dollar synth.

people bash fl studio users because they're a lot of people that use stock sounds. these guys are just using fl studio to sequence and record. their using their own sounds (kits/ synths)
lots of ppl just use the sounds installed already in fl studio, instead of diggin for their own sounds.
fl studio is just as good as any other program (when you use your own sounds)

@iLLestBeats02 just a lil comment..that beat drop the world had fl sounds used in it. the main instrument is called the cube. its in the sytrus vst. the drums may be there own but i think fl is good even if u use there sounds. its just not good for vocals in my opinion.

@paulbefc I understand what you mean, there are a lot of uncreative simple beatmakers. And some of them use FL, but not all, thats just a pre-judgement. Truth is that FL has the qualities to make a finished song, you dont need a stamp from a superproducer to make that judgement it's a fact.
I see a lotta whack or uncreative beats being made on mpc's by amateurs (and a couple famous ones) here on youtube, but still there are big songs being made with the MPC's.

I don't disagree with what you're saying, but there amateur producers with 1,000 of dollars worth of equipment who think that because they paid a lot of money for it that anything they put together will sound good. Not the case.

hey LETS BE REAL AMATEURS, FL IS CRAP why??? Ask any professional who went and studied music production using software like Reason, Pro Tools, Logic, FL IS CRAP COMPARED TO THOSE. Firstly, FL instruments like Kick, Snares, Drums are too soft and most instruments don't sound real including VST. Its like they recorded the instrument. Put your hands on lets say reason and play a kick, snare or drum, go back to FL and play the same kick, snare or drum and see which sounds better and real. Experiment

Love the Kong Drum Machine and its juz an amazing software where you can connect racks like a real studio. PEOPLE, fl is nice, but try other software.

@OfficialMathiasFunch FUCK YOU FOOL, i never said FL IS CRAP, i said its CRAP compared to Logic, Pro Tools and Reason. I did many songs on fl and used the plugs like flanger, reverb, eq and more and when my song is Mixed and Mastered in Logic by a Professional Engineer, its sounds great. Reason is way better than FL. I love reason, get your hands on one and use the Kong Drum Machine loaded with drum kits of all major genres of music and you will be happy.

@Ultimate007Trini i know where you coming from with using pro software instead of Fl to produce music on a pro level but to be honest the software has nothing to do with the creation process. If you are talking about preparing a song and engineering the sound to be just right, then yea the software matters but the composing the idea can be done on any software. I think the arguing on here is between those who look at the software as an editing tool vs an instrument.

I did a couple of songs in FL and the end result was fine until I played with Reason and loved the sound. But like I said, the sound is terrible. I often have to double on my kicks and snares to get it hard sounding. And yes, a mix can still be polished and so on after FL by a Engineer. FL has alot of nice plugins which is good. But FL can't be compared
