Anyone who has any law enforcement or corrections experience knows that when a guy threatens suicide he needs to be in an observation cell with a suicide prevention gown. The lack of security precautions they took with him are just startling, not to mention the violation of his rights when they leaked his info.

When we add to this that the would be teen is supposed to be as old as 15, a teen just turning adult, it's totally out of proportions to treat him like this. As for the general treatments of prisoners, I think the right approach is somewhere between the one in my country and in yours, but nothing good comes out of treating prisoners poorly.
