  • @TheYoungDino there it is.... watch Hi Tech Soul right here on youtube the history and origins of techno

  • @TheYoungDino :: THANK UNDERGROUND RESISTANCE 1st MAJOR TECHNO TO WHAT IT IS....MOWTOWN in DETROIT Helped INFLUENCE THE BIRTH OF TECHNO IN DETROIT.

Believe it or not...You should really check into the history of MOWTOWN & Underground Resistance. And Detroit before you make a statement like that. Look up BRISTOL & LONDON UK.

  • @TheYoungDino There's always gone be SOMEBODY tryin to na-say and take away credit for the MANY things my city (DETROIT) Brought forth! BUT keep runnin your mouth while we keep staying un-fazed.We used to it and,,,WE DON'T HERE YOU

  • The mix is Fire...Don't care much for the video though. I would have preferred just a Higher Quality HD with ole skool pics or sumtin. The sound is what is important when I add to my playlist I just listen & not watch the video every time. I love all the song choices though...

  • African American music is undeniably awesome and def. the main influence on all forms of pop music today.... but you also gotta give some props for bands like 'Kraftwerk.' Afrika Bambatta basically lifted a melody of theirs called "Trans Europe Express" for "Planet Rock." They are playing Kraftwerk in this mix, which came out in '81, and they were doing "techno" back in the 70's. So no, Detroit didn't invent Techno. It also bites that Dilla didn't get noticed till after he MOVED outta Detroit.

  • THAT IS PRETTY MUCH TRUE, BUT THE D LOVED, ACCEPTED, AND PLAYED TECHNO MORE THEN ANY CITY IN THEE U.S. BUT YES MUCH PEOPLE DONT KNOW BOUT KRAFTWERK, THEIR HOT. IN THE MOVIE REVENGE OF THE NERDS THEY KINDA PLAYED THEM IN THE CONTEST AT THE END OF THE MOVIE.

  • oh my damn.. this is the best channel on youtube.. this one video just took me back... this was the show back in the day...

  • There is a definite seen in N.A in regards to techno and house. The sad case seems it was abandoned by urban blacks were they would think your nuts if you listened to this!

  • great memories of coming home from school watching the dance show...

  • I love this show and the people in it. the music is amaaazing. love from Portland!

  • Thank you! We appreciate the love.

  • Many detroiters dont know that we invented tecno. We also dont know that real hip hop actually existed here. Jdilla(rip), black milk, frank and dank, slum vill,EMINEM were part of a talented undergrnd scene while 97.9 d*ck rode mc's from other states, wouldnt acknowledge the accolades of people like Dilla till he died. Prick radio.

Its unfortunate that so many black forms of music (techno, rock and roll, the blues) were copied/hated by white america but were respected by the europe.

  • @morwaze we still the shit

  • @morwaze remember Kas and Mystro? Mystros on the flex....

  • @morwaze look i respect eminem and he has skills but i'm sick and tired of him being mentioned in the detroit scene from way back in the day

  • @morwaze ...and Australia.

  • For some reason this was on late night in Boston. I remember Ms.Energy.

  • @AJGtwentysix no shit

  • that's considered booty bass, not techno. learn your genres, asshole

  • its booty music but mixed with breakbeat a lot in that show,

  • percolator is definitive detroit techno......

  • @gino4678 Percolator is actually by Cajmere, from Chicago... close enough scene though

  • Why did I get thumbs down? Seriously. It is true. I guess I must of upset two white girls I got two thumbs down.

  • Detroit was, is and always will be the shiiiit!!!

  • SOOOO DAMN TRUE MY FRIEND!!!

  • wow women back then were thick compared to women today. So techno was invented by black people ...and...rock....why is all techno made my white European now a days?

  • no doubt! It was all about cybotron back in the day. White people just fucked it up as usual.

  • I just met someone from Detroit who doesn't know what Techno is. LOL.

  • 5 stars for the intro! ... .and my girl iceberg!

    haaaay!

  • Yeah Quay!!! (AKA China Doll)..that was my girl!! She used to be f'*ckin that sh*t up!!

  • Damn...this just took me back to channel 62 when I was little. LMAO...Good shiz

  • This is what true mixing was and should still be all about in Detroit!

  • You could REALLY dance to this music, not so much too the music today.

  • Wiggle Wiggle .. shake what ya mama ... is so dope ... add to fav :-)

  • This is dope

  • Shake dat ass baby let me see what you got !!! that was the days . Need to find a club to kick it girl !

  • I really miss this show I grew up with the scene and the new dance show wasn't nothin like it

  • Nothin' like a bad bitch from Detroit

  • That;s me Dangerous Dee dancin next to the girl in the black dress she was down to earth. We met on the show and she told me to dance next to her.You can see us step up on the stand at 1:41. I ran into to her one nite at Watts when she was with her dance group the Mercedes Ladies they were all dressesd alike and she still was cool R.IP ERNESTINE A.KA. TEENIE A.KA BOOMJET.

  • when she die

  • 5 min of fame...Cool, aka Blaze

  • Comment removed

  • This shit is the bomb. That chick with the black dress at 5:25 on was working that ass when Wiggle, Wiggle came on

  • She died, sweet girl.

  • The New Dance Show is throw back and classic. Forget all that hating yall doin. Hilarious.

  • Also, if you watch Soul Train when it first started taping in Chicago that shit was "ghetto" too. I hate the fact that when people see black folks dancing they automatically offiliate it with Soul Train. I guess if you took the exact same show and put a room full of white people it would be compared to American Bandstand. Wow.

  • good goood good

  • this is kinda like soul train, only there's no Don Cornelius

  • Soul Train didn't play booty music. Totally different atmosphere.

  • Don Cornelius is too bougie and would have never played this type of music on Soul Train and let the dancers get loose like they did on the New Dance show

  • Nope. The New Dance Show made Soul Train look like the Special Olympics. It was a hot ghetto Soul Train on steroids!

  • Exactly! We let loose on the Dance Show. No matter how "ghetto" that shit may have looked it was off the chain! People looked forward to watching Soul Train for the guests they had on the show. People watched the Dance Show for the dancers. ESPECIALLY the females... Soul Train was taped on Hollywood and was on for over 35 years so of course their budget is gonna be bigger. No comparison whatsoever.

  • Well for your information Soul Train started to really let loose after 1995-96 it is when the female dancers was dressing like strippers and hookers and dancing atrocious and the music by 1997-98 so The New Dance show was like the shiny suit era of Soul Train

  • The New Dance Show started in 1988 and ended in 1996. What the hell are you talking about? The Scene started in 1976 and ended in 1987 and The New Dance Show was a spinoff of The Scene. Get ya facts straight bro. Name ONE dancer on Soul Train? Like I said previously there is NO comparison. The New Dance Show had a live DJ that mixed as the show was being taped. No matter how much you call yaself trying to talk shit people still watched it. Why is Soul Train not on the air now?

  • Apple was the one dancer out of all soul train dancers of the mid 90s and the new millenium, she started in 91 but didn't get noticed until 1995-96, but if you look at soul train many of the female dancers let loose by 1996-97, the female dancers on soul train went from classy to trashy by the end of 1996-97 season so get you stuff right

  • That's your definition of trashy? Wow. You didn't answer my question as to why it's not on the air. You named ONE female dancers out of 35 years worth of females. I can tell you're a devoted fan of the show.

  • The show stopped taping new episodes in 2006 but didn't get taken out of syndication until September 22,2008 with the last episode of the best of soul train aired. but soul train still lives on youtube and with a movie coming out this year
