you should check out some of the precursors to the armored core games with the Assault suits series. (Genesis, SNES, Saturn, and PSX.) or Metal Warriors (SNES)

A great game used to play this all the time. One of the Genesis/Mega Drive later games that really pushed the system and really showed how powerful the system really was.

@kirgeez yeah one of the best games on genesis. I loved games like this, strider, the thunderforce series, grind stormer, truxton and the other great shooters at the time.

the game looks so advanced and pretty but requires the six button controller which is tough to find. It's on my list to get but I don't think I'll ever actually find it.
