Kinda of lame that these guys are just standing around with gunfire going off nearby. Maybe it's just me, but that doesn't seem like wisdom. I would like to live for another day to protest.
Why do you say the police was shooting at "them"? The riot police is as brute in Iran as everywhere else. They kick and baton everyone, women, old men, the lot. When outnumbered they are allowed to shoot warning shots or rubber bullets. It is the same law everywhere. Yes, the world is warching, but they know nothing of whats going on. We in the outside can just see news here and there and hope for the best.
I understand everyones concern, but even in the death of the young Iranian lady, so widely shown all over the world, she is doing nothing wrong. And she is shot in the heart giving her 30 agonizing seconds to live. In the middle of the crowd, many people around her. The shot was intentional no doubt about it. But who shot her? Why? You must insert all these subjects in a context. I know the people are suffering and the police are beating everyone. But don't point your finger without real proof.
Why, the middle-east always have war-like events, oppression of people, like this? Is something wrong with their religion/culture? Do they have an inability to accept the fact that every human is born with different sets of minds/feelings/likings/preferences/tastes, differences that God freely created in every human being? Why do they with these inabilities/handicapped always become the leaders and those who are not mentally handicapped become suppressed?
The problem with their government/"war-like events" is God. There is always another crazy group that claims the evil they commit is justified by devine cause.
what amazes me most is not the violence the government uses but how little violence protesters use back. that and how the rest of the world just sits back and watches.
When America butts in and trys to help, everyone complains. When no one butts in to help, everyone complains. Although helping the people overthrow the corrupt government seems like the right thing to do, nobody appreciates it, and it starts wars.
Dear Turo, Hear Hear! I think the US should interviene though, if only to make a statement about hypocracy. A country that had 8 years of leadership by a corporate shill after he lost 2 elections attacking a country that was just following it's example. Uncle Sam says, 'Do as I say and not as I do! or else!' I'll keep my fingers crossed for an invasion. Maybe then Americans will revolt against their own corruption (doubtful though).
Unless the intervention in Iran will make the U.S. some cash I really don't think it is going to happen. America is only in the Middle East to act as a police force against the ones that kill innocents in the name of "good". Anything U.S. does beyond that I am not defending. Too many people are either too comfortable with the corruption or are too stupid to see it so it continues.
i dont sympethise with the current iranian government much, just telling it how i see it, that gunfire is pretty close, i would say about 50-100m away, if they were shooting at people then the crowd would not be standing there, and we would hear more screams, to me it seems like warning shots, also if the police were shooting at them to kill they would be firing alot faster, im just trying to let people understand the truth, not sympathising with the police or government, so dont rip my head off
Its against the government, the election was rigged and the same dictator that no one voted for who persecutes the people was said to be re-elected but none of the people voted for him.

Liberal Irans: _________________________________ Fight for your freedom! Fight for your right to be free! It's worth to figth and to die for liberty! So use all arms against the tyranny - fight them - TO BE FREE!! The fight for freedom is the fight it's worth to kill! It's worth to die, if need be! Freedom isn't free, but it's worth fighting for!!!
A democratic election was held in Iran and the glorified dictator who has fucked over iran for the last several years was said to be re-elected but none of the people voted for him. They are trying to show the government that they wont lie down and be stepped on any longer.
i dont fink the police were shooting at them i mean listen how many shots went off and how many people were there and they were trained police shooting (apparently) surely someone would of got killed.
Iranian police officers would be arrestet, if they shoot on civilists here. But in Tehran is it the order, that they get. Achmadinedschad is a loser, but nobody had him said that.
The Basij people are basically just loyalist tools used by the government to do the dirty work so the government of Iran doesn't get caught with red hands. They say the Basiji isn't related to the government, so it's not their fault.
