I agree with you though about Tifa but for story telling purposes, it was "an upset," meant to evoke an emotional response and build suspense. Most of us were rooting for her, so we had a strong reaction when she lost.

@pinoyboy91 Yeah, and all because some Tool at Square Enix, forgot to reveiw their work from Final Fantasy 7. If they had they would have remember that ALL MATERIA is installed into WEAPONS AND ARMOR and NOT directly into the body. Which means that Tifa would have MASTER MATERIA installed in her BOOTS and GLOVES because THOSE are her weapons, not ALL OVER HER BODY. I don't know which moron at Square Enix decided to do it that way... but it SUCKS.

@Gartzak Did you read the very first sentence of my post? It was because some TOOL at SQUARE ENIX OBVIOUSLY forgot to REVEIW the WORK from FINAL FANTASY VII the ORIGINAL GAME. You know from back when they were still SQUARESOFT.

~clears throat~ If anyone ever actually READ the in-game WALKTHROUGH on HOW TO USE THE MATERIA (not likely) then they would know that CLOUD SPECIFICALLY TELLS BARRET that materia is INSTALLED INTO THEIR WEAPONS AND ACCESSORIES.

this is not made by square enix. if it was then they wouldnt have gotten it wrong. This was created by a guy named Mounty Oum. He is not a die hard final fantasy fan, so mistakes can be expected.

Mounty Oum now currently works for the company that makes Red vs Blue.

I'm said he got the idea for the materia being inside the body from the movie Advent Children, and Enix said that the materia could only be used when installed in a weapon. I'm saying Enix screwed up, not Monty. I think his work is awesome! I do think the fight against Hitomi might have gone a little different... little less bleeding on Tifa's part because all she would have had to do was get Tifa's gloves and boots off cause those are her weapons.

@JessyDupre don't know why Monty made FF vs DOA. Obvioulsy DOA characters were given enhancements, like Hitomi's super strength, so they wouldn't suck so badly. Even without materia, which is only in FF 7, FF characters have supernatural powers, as evident in their Limit Breaks. And in other FF series the characters don't even need materia to perform magic, they just can. FF vs Street Fighter would have been better, no need to "enhance". I mean who wouldnt want to see Tifa dueling with Chun li?
