  • Well... I dunno but I have never met a 2nd and much less a 3rd generation adult American who didn't speak English and I am from South Texas. What I do know is many parents like their children growing with 2 languages and figure they get caught up with English in school. Many cultures try to hold on to the languages of their ancestors and want their children speaking a bit of Tegalog, Spanish or Mandarin or w/e... if they pay taxes they shld also have a voice in the US whether we like it or not.

  • Its about time someone else besides me speaks up about ESL classes, finally another normal human being. Its simple, if you can't speak ENGLISH in the United States, then go back to the country you came from. 2nd and 3rd generation in ESL classes? What the hell is wrong with these immigrants coming into the United States? By the 2nd and 3rd generation, they should be able to speak fluent english.
