@DameDiabolique Actually, he didn't return to britannia. That world you see is supposed to be the guardians own homeworld. You were there supposed to find a way to defeat the guardian before your final return to britannia to trounce him with his own powers.

never completed it but enjoyed it nonetheless. Pisses me off when developers create endings like this. I don't mind a twist like maybe some remains of the guardian were left behind but this is just depressing.

Read the description. I used Soundblaster synthesesis for music. DosBox can't record MIDI music.

@GermanTribun oh, you're right... I just meant for your own enjoyment, but I didn't know you knew - you could alternatively record from something like camtasia, but I bet it would probably be choppy, huh?

@krononomikon The only way to get the midi sound that you and I remember is to use an old computer and film the computer screen, or match up the old audio with the new video. The newer midi engines have better sound fidelity and are closer to the actual instruments they resemble. That's why it's a little off, but awesome to see UVIII again nontheless!

I played this game when I was 7-8 years old. I never realized what I should do to finish the game. I was afraid of many monsters! even the spider u can kill by just stepping on it. Nowadays I still cant finish it. Im still afraid of if :p Well actually I lost interest in this game.

I learned of the great(est) Ultima series in about 2000, when I got Ultima IX for Christmas... I wish I could find the English version of Ultima VIII, then I wouldn't have needed to look up the ending on YouTube instead of actually playing till there... (I don't know Italian, that is...)

@CastChaos Isn't this German? Anyway, VIII and IX are not a reference to the great series that was and is Ultima. VII is what you need. Trust me on this.

@kerstmanneke82 I meant I didn't have it with a language I know, that's why I looked up a video of it on any language.

But I could finally play it by now. I never finished it, 'cause I really don't like it. I played almost all Ultima games by now (and finished most of what I played) and I know that Ultima VII-2 and Ultima IX are my favourites, latter isn't like the first 7 games, but it was the first Ultima game I played, so I didn't have comparation base for the others.

i remember this game, coulda been cool probly but playing it i remember getting turned off by the avatar jumping and never took it seriously, just seemed too arcadish and was a turn off to the hard core rpb buff in me.. i liked the previous Ultimas tho..

Sim isle is crap but this game is actually really good,i never finished it cause i got stuck in lithos maze after getting necromancy powers.

It's actually easy. Once you are in the Void (the blue room), there are four teleporter doors at each end, each leading to the realm of one Titan. Defeat him by using the right blackrock stone on him After you've defeated all four, the stones should be glowing.

Now place them as seen in the video, then use the fifth (pyramid) on you before placing it at the last spot. The walk through the new gate to end the game.

You see yourself walk through the gate, return to Britannia, only to see...

just spent weeks running round trying to figure out what to do with that weird neon plate you find in that guys house.
