  • Morris is a hero, end of!

  • morris is brilliant

  • Depicted as a large four legged breast. Nearly died laughing.

  • Why has the present got a side-ways mouth?

  • "please do me the courtesy of being quiet"

  • "Incolae praiapae"

  • JS: Christopher Morris. Does that ring a bell?

    CM: No.

  • That man is like a real life partridge, its unreal!

  • he spat the dummy when his cover was blown. he's a comic genius, but he's a bit of a cunt as well. wish he'd stuck to the brilliant parodies and things that didn't involve humiliating and degrading people. the humiliation stuf was never his funniest anyway.

  • @SquishedButterfly You have no idea...

  • @naraic1020 about what? if you're just talking about him only humiliating media whores, and smug conceited types who deserved it, I've heard it all before, and it's bullshit. he made fools out of people. I don't care who they were, if you can't stand prank humour and degradation, it's just plain ugly, and was never the best use of his great talent, or the funniest bits of his shows. Day Today was miles better than Brass Eye.

  • @SquishedButterfly Everyone is entitled to an opinion, it's a joke so it doesn't bother me

  • @SquishedButterfly I can understand were your coming from about how your not interested in prank humour, but if you dont like it, why are you on this video?

  • @SquishedButterfly I think he was playing up to it. He's not stupid, surely he entertained the possibility of being found out.

  • @SquishedButterfly He only makes targets of those people/institutions that he feels are deserving of ridicule. I think he generally gets it right.

As for him 'humiliating and degrading people', come on! Who in this clip is humiliated of degraded?

  • @Matthewkilb Rolf Harris, Jenny Powell etc are guilty of nothing more than wanting to work in TV. That doesn't mean they deserve to be humiliated. Blue Jam, On the Hour, and Day Today were all heaps better than Brass Eye, so there was no need to go that way anyway. he starts attacking Stapleton in a very personal childish name-calling way. Parodying faceless stuff such as the news is okay, but making fools of individuals is ugly, and I think poor use of his talent.

  • @SquishedButterfly Generally though, I don't think his aim is to attack the people, but to expose the medium in which they work as being shallow and ill-informed, yet claiming authority in so many areas.

If you take a job as a presenter, or agree to be a talking head on a documentary etc etc, then you have a duty to yourself and your viewers to at the very least do some research into what it is you have agreed to do. The fact that Chris Morris can get these people to agree to such ludicrous..

  • @Matthewkilb my feeling is that there will have been a lot of very normal well dressed well spoken professional peoople with professional equipment behaving very normally prior to the absurd stuff, and this catches people off guard . we only see the edit. I thihk you're being hard on them. And even if someone is gullible, or unpleasant I don't thik that means they deserve to be humiliated. this may sound dramatic but take that kind of thing to the extreme, and what you have is a psychopath.

  • @SquishedButterfly I don't think I'm being hard at all. We may only see the edit, but at the end of the day these people have still agreed for the utterly absurd statements about ridiculous subjects they have agreed to say to be used by the people filming them. It goes to show that most of these people don't give a fig about anything other than publicity and their own self-image. These are the people that millions of people watch and listen to. If they can be persuaded to spout untruths...

  • @Matthewkilb he could've continued to use comedy to make all of those serious points without the need to drag real people into it. So all that's left is that he's doing it for their own good to teach them humility, but I don't buy it. Don't think he gives a shit about them. I hate seeing people being made to look foolish while others who are in on the joke sit around cackling. It's low. Justify it as a social awareness raising thing if you like but I think your kidding yourself.

  • @SquishedButterfly They made themselves look foolish though. Chris Morris just provided the rope that then then hung themselves with. You surely can't deny that.

They didn't take their responsibilities as public figures seriously, and were exposed as attention-seeking, self-promoting idiots, who couldn't even be bothered do the most basic of research into what it was they being asked to promote.

  • @SquishedButterfly

Like it or not, the media figures that Morris ridicules often have as much, if not more, power when it comes to influencing public opinion than politicians do. I think it's safe to say that most people would agree that politicians should take their job seriously, and that they should be well-informed and accountable, so why shouldn't the same be true of those in the media?

  • @SquishedButterfly ...this easily by someone making a piece of satire, then it brings into doubt the veracity and reliability of anything they say in their roles as presenters. People in their line of work have a duty and a responsibility to their viewers to ensure that the information they are lending authenticity to through their endorsement of it is accurate and not misleading.

Unlike something like Bo Selecta, Brass Eye was not being nasty simply for the sake of being nasty...

  • @SquishedButterfly ...It may be a comedy, but it addresses serious issues to do with the unquestioned authority of the media, the importance afforded to mediocre celebrity, the denigration of actual expertise in favour of uninformed opinion, and the shallow, self-serving nature of large swathes of the media industry.

You can't make an omelette without breaking eggs. A healthy dose of humiliation is probably what a lot of these people need, and the end result was well worth their discomfort.

  • @SquishedButterfly ...things (such as campaigning against a drug that has caused a girl to vomit up her own pelvis, or advocating vertical tube farms, or denouncing scientists who are keeping a genetically engineered testicle in a cot) shows up the shallow, publicity-seeking nature of their trade. If any of them had bothered to do a bit of homework they would have worked out that it was a set-up.

At the end of the day, those people are just as responsible for making themselves look foolish.

  • Is this actually real or a sketch?

  • @ItsBiwiPwice Real Morris invasion...

  • "And you've changed the colour of your hair. Why is it not white any more?"

  • Search. HTV Wales continuity - The Time The Place titles, 1990, you will see the original host the Chris refers to. Mike Scott.

  • Notice he asks John Stapleton why his hair isn't white anymore, lol. An obvious reference to Mike Scott.

  • Didn't anyone used to watch the time place then?? It was Mike Scott first and then John Stapleton took over like here. Everyone knows the theme tune don't they? It used to come on before this morning, and was on the same time as Kilroy on the other channel.

  • I think morris did a good job here. He reduced the host to desperately talking loudly over him like an attention seeking school boy who considers himself top dog rather than handling the unexpected event in an adult fashion.

  • Chris Morris: Media Terrorist.

  • Mark Heap on Morris' left

  • The host surely doesn't think lasting for 10 minutes in bed is 'lousy' does he? Unless that includes foreplay as well, in which case yes it's a bit short

  • Comment removed

  • Am I the only one who thinks that Morris doesn't "own" Stapleton at all? Look at Morris' reaction at around the 2:24 mark after Stapleton realises he isn't who he says he is. He looks flustered and a bit unprepared for the possibility of being rumbled, and his get-out isn't very convincing.

  • @bigmacchris His performance is still highly impressive. Such balls! I bet he was a total cunt to hang out with at uni...overconfident people irk me.

  • @bigmacchris It was a pretty good get-out, I thought. And he stuck with it with the book thing, turning it into a proper troll. Above all, are you disputing that the line about the hair isn't a total classic?

  • Absolutely love it.

  • Chris Morris has such balls! What an amazing satirist!

  • I don't remember seeing this episode but I remember the program. It was god awful. Think it used to be on Jezza Kyle's slot in the mid to late 90's?

  • John Stapleton is a retard.

  • anyone see the large chap look at his wife at the line "sex one and a half times a week" 0:20

  • BRILLIANT

  • Morris is a God. He's perfect.

  • the guy to morris' left has definitely recognised him.

  • "...and you've changed the colour of your hair why is it not white anymore?"

  • Absolutely fantastic - if Chirs Morris was a real expert in any of this we get a taste of the contempt he would have been treated with, and we can see here why - because the presenter is fantastic idiot.

  • the most innovative edition of this programme I suspect. Maybe the presenter would reluctantly concede this, with the benefit of hindsight.

  • Christopher Morris? Does that ring a bell?

    This is a disgrace.

  • I've researched this and there is no such people as Incali Preapali - this speccy ideot doesn't know why he's is talking about - rubbish.

  • @CreelFrimbert

If you're gullible enough to have wasted your time researching that then Chris has made an even bigger fool of you. Ha ha, loser.

  • @CreelFrimbert You total wally, are you actually going to have to have the joke explained to you?

  • @CreelFrimbert CreelFrimbert is Chris Morris.

  • @CreelFrimbert 'ideot' was too much, good though. Actually apparently some people did fall for it :(

  • @CreelFrimbert

it would be incolae from incola which means native

  • @CreelFrimbert Retard

  • In one word: Hilarious

  • oh god the way he turns the entire thing 180 degrees

    a troll amongst men

  • Chris Morris= god

  • nevermind I should have just watched the whole thing before saying anything. bloody brilliant!

  • I apologize I've just came across this brilliant comedic specimen, but does anyone know if this was staged or did he hide in the audience

  • @kingcollie Hid

  • @kingcollie He hid in the audience. (in answer to your question)

  • @theonlyantony oh hah sorry I had a bit of a brain fart there, cheers

  • Brilliant. I love it when people get angry, I really do.

  • Salute

  • LOL I never liked John Stapleton myself.

  • @Teabhagdad yep, true

  • I wish intelligent interesting PROFOUND people would pop up on these shows more often. I really enjoy comedy but I'd never heard of him before four lions. Need to look up LOADS more : )

  • Brilliant.

  • Awww i thought it said chuck norris

  • @zaniac1000 "they grappled in the bbc car park." ... haha, more info please...

  • A brilliant performance - best enjoyed with a piping hot bowl of invisible lead soup.

  • Absolutely brilliant!

Don't you want to slap the woman in red, though?

  • Was this just for his own personal amusement or some show that never made it? I hope the former.

  • ive never seen this b4 lol

  • When I was at University at St Mary's in Twickenham from 1989-1993 the nearby studios where they filmed this used to offer us students £10 to turn up when they were short of a studio audience.

I can assure you, we always enjoyed the day (and the bit of beer money that went with it) and being on TV almost daily...and our comments were almost as cheeky as Chris Morris's....

  • OMG FUNNY HAHA FUNNY HEHE OMG

  • Take John Stapleton's picture off the monitor. I don't want to see his face.

  • A large four-legged breast. :D

  • he never gave up the act

  • @MoonAharshMistress you need a hobby dude

  • Isn't that Peter Davis?

  • there wasnt any saxons in britain in roman times

  • @gingerjames86 Oh, no, there wasn't.

  • @MoonAharshMistress get over it, why do you care.

  • Chris Morris is a legend.

  • I wish Morris would do another show like Jam, with Mike Patton doing the music. A match made in... some scientifically possible heaven.

  • @VanishingWish Glad I'm not the only one who thinks they'd fit like a glove.

  • They should put Chris Morris on this shitty show every day.

  • @molly0000000s I found his radio show before the office funny. Flaminals is a kid's book. Again, Ricky Gervais is an entertainer, Morris is a satirist, apples and oranges. I don't know why people mention Ricky Geravis when talking about Morris like they're into the same thing. Talk about Peter Cook, Alan Bennett, Jonathan Miller, John Cleese, Dudley Moore, Armando Iannuci, etc. Get off your high horse idolizing one man.

  • @ChristopherDone My leg is nicer than yours. BYEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

  • Haha that guy just got totally owned by chris morris

  • unflinching....fantastic.

  • He is a hero of mine, a genius

  • 1:46

What a show! Chris Morris AND Elvis Presley, sitting not 3 feet away from him?

  • ..Before Steve Coogan, before Ricky Gervais and before Sascha Baron Cohen, Chris Morris was absolutely wrecking the establishment with his sardonic humour, he is without doubt a living legend.

  • @Dungarth even though Steve Coogan was doing work on 'Spitting Image' in the 80's? And him an Chris Morris worked together on radio shows in the very early 90's?! So not before him, but around the same time. I agree with the rest of your comment though of course!

  • saw this live when i was just aboy

  • liquid

  • Most successful IRL troll ever

  • @jacob7zuma Indeed. The perfect troll.

  • "You've changed the colour of your hair, why is it not WHITE any more?"

  • Took Staples and ITV 1min 50 sec to work him out, Chris just exposes weak intelligence!

  • @MrLuvlyJubly This is a cut down of a 30 minute show - think CM had them foxed for most of it. :D

  • Haha - god he's quick! The way he gets out of having his cover blown ...

  • I actually feel sorry for the presenter - having his Just For Men Gel use exposed...

  • when he says men are frightened of women with brains the woman at the back goes ABSOLUTELY. :)) Genius

  • HA HA did not know he did this the man is a legend

  • Where the hell have I been hiding?? I'm a big Chris Morris fan and never knew he'd done this! Lovely stuff!! And I see Stapleton's still the same smug twat!
