I was curious...how often did they monitor you and for how long? Were you moving around the room alot (which I'm sure was extremely helpful?) My water broke early and there was concern about a prolapse cord so they wanted me to stay in bed. But I sat bolt upright and let gravity pull her down. How long did you push for..it looks like with all your movement and with your positions it moved really quick. Also, who delivered you (doc or CNM), it's awesome how they really worked with you,
My water broke about 30 minutes before my labor started. I was monitored when I arrived at the hospital (about 4 hours after my water broke- the scene in the rocking chair) for 3 or 4 contractions and some while I was pushing. I was only at the hospital about an hour (or less) when I started pushing and pushed for 20 minutes or so. I moved around a lot and spent some time in the shower. I had a wonderful CNM!
Congrats on your adorable baby girl. I found sitting all the way was very helpful while I was in labor as well, and it also I think shorten my pushing time. Did you have a ob deliver you? Isn't is wonderful when everyone works together and the end result is such a wonderful miracle! Congrat again.
From the video, it looks like I sat a lot. I really only sat when I had to be monitored and actually spent about 90% of the time on my hands and knees. I pushed on my hands and knees, but sat to give birth because my arms were SO tired!
