Actually leather jackets weren't the only jackets worn by greasers, wind breakers were worn also, ie james deans red wind breaker in a rebel without a cause.
i love these old shows but one thing that bugs me about them is the anachronisms. it takes place in the 50s or early 60s yet everyone you see has a freakin 1976 hair style. the 70s were bad for that.
OMG! its soo unlike Fonzie to put a dime into a jukebox......wheres his "Amazing Juke Box Powers"? and his leather jacket.........OMG! and i remember this episode to!
There is another reference in this clip to an earlier episode. When Arnold is on his knees pleading for Fonzie to forgive him for running over his motorcycle, it is very similar to Ralph begging for his life when he runs over Fonz's bike in season three.
@peterwulfy , Yes Fonzie wore that Windbreaker Jacket during the first season...The Studio didn't want him to wear a Leather Jacket..they thought it sent a bad message to the kids.....Gerry Marshall worked around it by having Fonz wear the leather Jacket with his motorcycle..which the Studio agreed. anytime you saw Fonz in his leather Jacket he had his motocycle with him.
OH! W-T-F! So was this in one ep in the story line he became uncool? I know he totally failed toward the end, though. Plus this doesn't even look like the 50's they're supposed to be in.
happy days was a great show. but the first 2 maybe 3 seasons were by far the best. when they filmed with just one camera and fonzie was a rebal. not some guy with super powers
I had forgotten about this episode. I grew up watching both Happy Days and Laverne & Shirley. The softer side of the Fonz was always a nice diversion.
Thanks so much for uploading this!! (but it's the 10th season, not the final 11th - the Pat Morita sighting gives it away (he only appeared in the 5th and 10th seasons). Awesome, though... wish you had the classic bloopers from Baio and Winkler trying to get through that scene! :)
LoL! I was gonna write the same thing. Yeah..I guess they couldn't pay them enough to cut it. If it really were like that, the Beatles haircut would have been LONGER!
There is a classic set of bloopers from this ep. Henry can't say "leather thieves" without dying of laughter. They have to do about thirty takes. Both are a wreck. Great stuff!!!
auhahahah quandi ricordi cmq per Simone Indelicato di Pedara credimi quando ti dico che è vero ciò che ti scrivono negli sms che ti inviano...somigli proprio a Fonzies ;-D
@streetcarjay a testament to how epic the Fonz was! The way most jargon is so quickly in and out of fashion, after all these years, I think the existence of the Fonz is possibly the reason the term "cool" is still...well, COOL!

Since it was the last season they gave Henry Winkler a break and let him break character and act like his normal self.

I believe the writers were not the original writers which describes the quality of the writing itself in the later seasons.
83survivor 2 years ago
Actually this episode was written by a guy who'd been with Happy Days since the first season. But that maybe just proves he should have known better.
carpalton 2 years ago
@carpalton The guy in the green aint that Charles from Charles in charge of me?

@RichyJA , yes that is Scott Baio from "Charile's in charge" he played on happy Days first. As Chachi Arcola. Fronz's Cousin.

Funny how back in the 70s, series like M.A.S.H and Happy Days, while taking place in the 50s, most of the cast had 70s hair.
