Actually the guitar in this video is a Washburn from their late '70s/early '80s Wing series, either an Eagle or a Falcon from the looks of it. Whether he used it anyplace else besides this TV appearance is another question.
@inversion66 Wow, thanks for the info, I thought it was maybe an Aria, he had one of those too, I remember reading that back in the day. It looks to be a well-built guitar, judging from the thickness of the body I would bet it might be a little heavy on Andy, Nice axe, looks good with Sting's Ibanez.
@Tamaslammer no because i love em too! i had those friends that HATED them so it made me love them that much more.but in all WE are the greatest fans! lol!
I think that Andy is playing an Aria Pro, he had a deal with them for a while. He played early Hamers, also, but I don't think the guitar here is a Hamer. Sting is playing one of his Ibanez fretless basses here.
He probably did! I just thank God that Andy and Stewart had most of the say regarding the set list for the recent tour!! Otherwise I'm not sure how that world tour would have panned out..:-)
I wish the Police would have played this song LIVE!...Stewart and Andy wanted to perform it LIVE during the reuion tour but Sting didn't want to...I love this song!
@stingfeyd Agreed! Copland and Summers should have had more influence for songs like this. But I give credit to all three on this song.... almost like they competed for best performance!! HOW COULD THIS BRILLIANT SONG NOT BE A HIT??? The only downside to the video is they chopped off the last 30 seconds - which is where they had their mojo on high!
this was music of the day when times were F...U...N... and life made since, because music in 2011 sucks...and thats from hip hop, rock and r&b too!

ME TOO I'M AGREE WITH YOU It's a shame that he didn't want. Some of his decisions are strange because it's a very good song wich could be a single

Yeah I remember it. Kenny interviewing Sting and then having a bit of a scuffle. I think they also did Bed's Too Big same episode.

I remember this episode - I think there was another little bit with Sting and Kenny, or am I remembering wrong?
