Mr. rpeek . . . Absolutely encouraging....... uplifting. For this I thank you over and over. I'm just picking up my banjo (again) and so love the old tunes. This is probably one of my favorite and you have done yourself proud. Thank you much.
I love this tune .. great pickin !! Matty Groves by Fairport Convention in the 70's is the same tune - I wonder which came first ? Love all your banjo videos ......Dave
Mr rpeek, all yer banjovideos are just so accessible. I like that a lot. I've been converted to drop thumb through your clips, also I like the slowness of many parts of many of the tunes/songs you prefer, IE John Hardy, for instance. Thanks for this, and Keep Posting.
That was amazing my friend, even if the melody notes were a bit tricky or messed up, my ears couldn't figure that out, so even if there were mistakes you still had my ears fooled!
nice work. i usually play it in c modal. tried playing along with your version and couldn't figure out what tuning you were in? sounds about an octave higher than my version...
It's like standard G tuning but on a short neck banjo, so probably a few octives higher.. I tend to just tune 'em till I like the sound and go from there..
I look forward to all your videos. The car is neat and your banjo playing makes it all that much better. Are you going to put primer on your rat rod or just leave it all rust and bondo? Just wondering.
i'm kinda partial to the primer look as that was what I remember from the "old days".
I use Windows Movie Maker and Sony Vegas. A kind of combination of the two to get what I've got.. Thanks.. I plan to leave as much of the "original" finish as I can. painted the frame and sprayed a little primer on the back, but might sand that off, and plan to leave rust. Might coat it with a some "concrete sealer" that I've got left over from my garage. That should be original.. hahaha

Im 99% sure I heard Doc Watson play this song live once. Good tune.
You really are a one man show... hot rods and pickin'! If CMT ever bought out the Speed Network, you could be their #1 show.
