I have an idea, something that might counteract the flickering (brighter and darker shots).
Instead of taking single shots, take 1 minute worth of video, and only pick frames within a given lightness range. Then take the average of those frames. You keep the resulting frame.
Do that every 2 minutes.
Something like that. You get my drift. Something that makes things look more gradual, brightness wise. Just a thought.
