I got a Retro-Duo a few months ago and seeing how shitty the quality of NES games are on it is really a letdown. This video and sound is ten times better than the Retro-Duo. SNES games are fine, but playing Castlevania and Ninja Gaiden is pretty dismal...
I usually use the boomerang because it gets 2 hits in 1. The holy water requires a solid surface right under the enemy to reach its full ass-kicking potential. The only other weapon available (within the rules I made for the boss rush) was the knife.
Are you talking about beating the doppleganger before Dracula's level or Dracula's 3rd form? I'd use the axe for Dracula but it wasn't in that last hallway.
I used a ROM on an emulator that could record and export an AVI. Then I edited all the AVI's together and used a couple special effects. I also attempted to keep the hearts mathematically correct but I screwed up because some levels wouldn't let me build back up to the number that the previous level ended at. It's a little complicated but I did the math later and if the hearts went correctly, I wouldn't have ran out from using them on bosses so I didn't bother fixing it.
I've noticed many youtube videos have that problem. The sound on my original files on my computer aren't laggy. So something must be happening to them in youtube.

The sound test thingy (when you hit A or B + start on the title screen) calls it "Big Battle" if that helps.
