OK, So this cartoon version is AWESOME! But its like, the cartoon is a #1 High School Football team, and Peter Jacksons version is an NFL Superbowl Champion. Nuff Said

I like rotoscoping; the realistic movement is there, while the look is a step removed from everyday life. Lot of debate in comments about Jackson vs. Bakshi. I like cartoons better than live actors; that's a personal preference, and I have seen only clips of the Jackson movies. The cartoon colors are gorgeous. Wish the money had been there to include every detail in Tolkien's story, or at least to finish the tale. I like this a lot, even though it diverges from the text.

this movie isn't as bad as many people say. It's not that good either but it's not terrible. Of course Jackson's films are better but neither versions could compare to the books. But to all those who keep bitching on the inaccuracies, you cannot, I repeat CANNOT make ANY sort of adaptation to be exactly like the books. It doesn't work that way. And there's a difference between a bad adaptaion and a bad movie. Just look at Disney

@waldenpondogre don't be mislead by the name, I hate Twilight as much as everyone else. And neither this or PJ's films are anything compared to the books. However, this version sticks much more closely to them (in certain aspects), even if it's quality as a film isn't as good as the trilogy. But "what can man do against such reckless hate?"

When I first looked at Balrog on this part, it was taller than a wizard, a man, etc.

And Balrog was half lion, half bat, and something with a whip and a fire sword.

But then on a Live-Action version on The Fellowship of The Ring, Balrog is three times big, heavy, and scarier than it was before in the animated film.

This version is okay for it's time, but they messed up a whole ton of stuff. Like Celeborn is not Seleborn but Keleborn! When they speak in Sindarin their pronunciation is awful, as shown by Gandalf in front of the doors. And what's with Aruman? And Sam is just stupid here!

I know that Jackson changed a lot, and I'm not disagreeing with those people that say so, but they got things wrong here too. I have to say I like PJ's version better.

This depiction of Galadriel and the "test" is so much better than Jackson's. He had her all creepy evil and weird and acting as if this really was a "test" she was expected to take. Galadriel is neither creepy nor evil nor weird!
