I went about things all wrong...all wrong. I started buying cds in the early 90s and bought and bought and bought. Then in my early 20s I got into vinyl and am still trying to replace all of my cds with vinyl. Its tough but I can tell you one thing Ive picked up some rare stuff especially Jazz albums never put to disc...theres just something about vinyl...you really have to love music to put together a huge collection of vinyl. Great Video. AnnArborMichigan Digger
@19Spencer80 I inherited £4000 from my Great Auntie, when I was 14, and spent most of it on CDs. By the time I bought turntables, there was hardly any money left!!!
You've been "peeped". Big ups on entry to "The Thing" @ 5:14. Professional. Knows where the goods are hidden. That spot was a gold mine in 2002. It's a gold mine today.
Even though the entire planet now knows, they have more records than anyone cares to dig through. except for a few,.
u never use to hear anything about diggin until D.I.T.C...heads use to sample obscure records..45king/ pete rock etc. on the back of diamond ds stunts blunts lp, he said peace to all real hip hop and peace to those diggin in the crates...all this diggin shit is gettin way too ponsy....
Digging in NY sucks. I went to NY to visit cousins, and I was expecting to come up on a GRIP, and I didn't find a half-decent record for under $30.00. I came home w/ nothing. I'll be damned. I was more than happy to truck my ass back to Florida, and dig through Clearwater thrift shops, finding late 70's/early 80's disco/boogie/soul that would prob never make it past Georgia. It's hard work, but the outcome is worth it.
Who cares who has the most records and which records they are? Taste is everything in sampling, and all that matters in the end is the context in which the sample is used.
thanks for that. I actually got to go "The Thing" 3 times in 2 days. But, thanks for letting me know where the other place is. Next time I'm in the area I'll check it out.
records are like crack...once you get a good hit you're done...you'll wake up 20 years later with a pile of vinyl in your living room.....just say no..LOL
Agreed. I say Dj Dhadow or DJ Muro from Japan would have more. I've heard Prince Paul owns so many records he has a hole locked up storage unit filled plus a house filled lol. Shadow alone as more then most in the game. Madlib's more of a prince of diggin lol

oops! sorry Carlos, I was trying to click on "post a text" and screen moved as I clicked and I accidentally clicked spam, sooooooooooo sorry, dude! all I was really trying to say was thanks for the post, Darth...
The Band is called "Horselemat", I do not know the title of the record. The track "Right on" is included on Kon & Amir's new 2CD: Off Track, Volume One.
I would definitely appreciate a re-edition of this record!
Beat diggers and vinyl addicts don't just buy music; They rescue it from obscurity. Crate digging has always been an integral part of hip-hop culture; producers might spend days in basements and back alley record spots looking for "the perfect beat" with dirty fingers, dust masks, portable turntables- anything to aid their quest.
I feel proud to have the party groove original .

Hörselmat
Magicdiamond 4 years ago
Group is called "Hörselmat" and the record is probably "Svenska Löd AB" from 1971. Only 200 copies was made, which explains the prize.
Hörselmat can be translated "Food for your hearing", but it's made into an idiosyncratic awkward word.

its the other way, the album is called hörselmat
