This is great. I found this song because I listen to Pretty Lights (they sampled it in "Finally Moving"). I heard this song on the radio, but I couldn't find it anywhere until now. Excellent.
Only recently, I got a CD that contains Judy Clay's song with Billy Vera, "Country Girl - City Man", which I hadn't heard in 40+ years. I also remembered this song, which I also hadn't heard in about 40 years until I heard it in, of all places, IHOP earlier today. Since there was too much talking in the restaurant to hear it well, I just had to look for it on YouTube tonight. And here it is! Thanks for posting it.
@flatlined92 Yeah it sounds so fucking awesome when it's recorded from speakers with shitty mic and with all this digital cliping and digital youtube compression. So much better lol.
@aadambeker no im saying records are better quality than digital. Lol yea i dont go on youtube to hear the best quality music, i just go on here cuz my computer with all my itunes music crapped out.
Great Tune....it was on youtube a while back but was taken off. I have been looking for quite a while and now you have placed it. Cheers......timeless song
Each time a "quality" version has been put up it lasts about a day and is removed for copyright reasons. I have tried twice and both have been taken down within hours.
absolutely sxitezza alll the way m8...my channel wont be your taste but i adore soul....any music that reaches me i consider soul,if you get me ;) R E P L A Y time...thx for the reply bud
There must be 2 versions of this by William Bell and Judy Clay out there. This sounds grittier than the one I have. It's on a doube CD with Mavis, Carla Thomas, Johnnie Taylor etc. All are duets of some sort. I really like this song. I just never heard it quite like this (you know how you pick up on little differences). I still gave it a 5.
I bought this in a second hand record shop in Dublin when i woz a kid maybe 12 and loved it, just a chance thing.... am now 51..... searched for it here and found it again.... Brings me back!!
Many people have asked me to add this classic on here, I finally got time to do this, I am glad it takes you back to the good old days of yesteryear (ps I was 52 last week lol)
@chaosxx667 You would have to go through the Booker T & The MGs songbook to find more,But like I said it is yet to be equalled,Maybe Curtis Mayfield or even Jimi come close imho
