I can speak/understand japanese and I must say that even though he has quite a thick accent the pronounciation is REALLY GOOD for someone who doesnt speak japanese at all:) I understand every word

I love the songs in different languages by Phil Collins BECAUSE of his accent! That makes the songs so unique! Him singing the music to Brother Bear was definitely one reason I watched the film.

I think he can be very proud for being able to sing his songs in all these other languages.

Not that I can complain, I dub songs in Japanese myself, and know it's far from perfect =P

But I'm SO glad he didn't do the Norwegian version!

English people CANT speak Norwegian sounds even after living here 10 years O_o

The Norwegian version is much more beautiful than the original version too by the way =)

Yes, he is not a native speaker. But then again, he does a good job for someone who does not speak it. I'm not fluent in Japanese, so yeah... O.o;

I absolutely love the Norwegian version :D Then again, I love the Norwegian language(I actually have Norwegian in my background(one of many backgrounds) and some of my ancestors were Vikings -^_^-).

Phil has a beautiful voice but his accent takes away from the beauty of the words I think. It a wonderful version but his accent bothers me. And I mean no offense because I love Phil Collins I just think a Japanese Artist would have been the better choice

@HitoriShinigami I can't speak Japanese. Phil Collins can't speak Japanese either, so it is very commendable of him to try to sing in so many languages. He did a Spanish version too, with a strong English accent, but he did it very well, considering he can't speak Spanish either. Behind him there was a huge team of teachers and professionals, trying their best. A Japanese artist would have pronounced better, but without the feeling, effort, charisma and personality only Phil can provide.
