I saw Atomic Punks in Beech Grove, Indiana, in a small dive bar. The stage was full of amplifires! It was a small stage. I've been to thousands of concerts, live performances, this was the loudest show ever! Van Halen needs Michael Anthony!

Ralph is lights out as Roth. whether it was brian young, russ parrish or lance turner, they were breathtaking. glad to see steel panther having the success they are. ralph was always cool to everyone. they deserve it.

there was no individual member that made van halen what it is. it was the four of them (meaning originally David, Michael, Alex, and Eddie) that made van halen what it was. they were all unique in their own style. David with his distinctive voice, Eddie with his unique sound, Michael with his sound and voice, and Alex with his crazy drums! So, 4 completely amazing musicians formed one completely amazing x 4 band :D. haha, Van Halen kicks SO much ass!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Seriously, his vox were such a huge -- and underrated -- part of the band. Breaks my heart that they got rid of him. Fuckin' Eddie needs to lay off the crack.
On a side note, I grew up a couple streets down from his house in Glendora. We'd be playing wiffle ball in the street and he'd drive by and all the kids would yell "Woooo, Van Halen rules!!!". He'd always have a big smile on his face and honk and wave to us. I never got a chance to meet him, but he always seemed like an awesome guy.

Ralph can do Roth better than Roth can these days and same with Russ and Ed. So of course Mike was having a good time with AP, he was playing for the fun of it and not having to deal with Roth's and Eddie's egos and manipulation. However, Wolfie's probably the most mentally stable one in VH.
Unless Van Halen is trying to go in a new direction there is no reason not to pick Raplh to front the band. There is a question of his writing ability. Without writing chemistry they will be only performing the oldies, that may be a reason. If Roth was a huge part of writing that would make a difference. Looking and sounding like is two different things. If they are riding it out sign this guy now. Find out if there is any writing chemistry.....Peace....check ya later guys
I know the main population thinks Michael Anthony didn't rejoin VH for the tour was due to his friendship with Sammy Haggar. Not true. The condition for him to be on the new tour was to give up his rights on copyrights of the bands original tunes. Some of which he wrote. He refused to give up the publishing and copyrights, hence Wolfie.

just played last night, 10-26-08 in san diego. i saw them for the first time. they were GREAT! so long as you can get over the whole "impostor" thing and just ENJOY it, any true VH fan will love it. By the way, michael anthony isn't the only one that endorses the band...DLR actually took TWO of their guitarists on tour with him, and dubbed the band "the best ever!" Not impostors...just great entertainment.
Mike Anthony's backing vocals have always been, OUTSTANDING! Maybe just a tiny bit sharp, but better sharp than flat! Sharpness within reason adds "cut" and presence, flat just sounds bad.
Wow, these guys are good; probably better than the real thing now sadly. Look at Michael Anthony; he seems like he's having a blast. Bet he hasn't had this much fun in years playing with the real Van Halen. VH needs to cut Dave and hire this guy instead then put out a blistering new album.

2 observations. #1 I really miss DLR's whistle register/falsetto I always thought it made him sound like a bluesy black man and hearing Ralph reminds me of what is missing. #2 I live Mike Anthony but his backing vocals are always sharp. Does anyone know what I mean?

Seriously, his vox were such a huge -- and underrated -- part of the band. Breaks my heart that they got rid of him. Fuckin' Eddie needs to lay off the crack.
On a side note, I grew up a couple streets down from his house in Glendora. We'd be playing wiffle ball in the street and he'd drive by and all the kids would yell "Woooo, Van Halen rules!!!". He'd always have a big smile on his face and honk and wave to us. I never got a chance to meet him, but he always seemed like an awesome guy.

Ralph can do Roth better than Roth can these days and same with Russ and Ed. So of course Mike was having a good time with AP, he was playing for the fun of it and not having to deal with Roth's and Eddie's egos and manipulation. However, Wolfie's probably the most mentally stable one in VH.

Unless Van Halen is trying to go in a new direction there is no reason not to pick Raplh to front the band. There is a question of his writing ability. Without writing chemistry they will be only performing the oldies, that may be a reason. If Roth was a huge part of writing that would make a difference. Looking and sounding like is two different things. If they are riding it out sign this guy now. Find out if there is any writing chemistry.....Peace....check ya later guys

I know the main population thinks Michael Anthony didn't rejoin VH for the tour was due to his friendship with Sammy Haggar. Not true. The condition for him to be on the new tour was to give up his rights on copyrights of the bands original tunes. Some of which he wrote. He refused to give up the publishing and copyrights, hence Wolfie.

just played last night, 10-26-08 in san diego. i saw them for the first time. they were GREAT! so long as you can get over the whole "impostor" thing and just ENJOY it, any true VH fan will love it. By the way, michael anthony isn't the only one that endorses the band...DLR actually took TWO of their guitarists on tour with him, and dubbed the band "the best ever!" Not impostors...just great entertainment.

Mike Anthony's backing vocals have always been, OUTSTANDING! Maybe just a tiny bit sharp, but better sharp than flat! Sharpness within reason adds "cut" and presence, flat just sounds bad.

Wow, these guys are good; probably better than the real thing now sadly. Look at Michael Anthony; he seems like he's having a blast. Bet he hasn't had this much fun in years playing with the real Van Halen. VH needs to cut Dave and hire this guy instead then put out a blistering new album.

yeah- i think he was having a great time- i'd much rather watch these with MA than the vh now(unfortunately)- wish these would stay togetther with michael and do some of their own stuff- bet it would be great!

2 observations. #1 I really miss DLR's whistle register/falsetto I always thought it made him sound like a bluesy black man and hearing Ralph reminds me of what is missing. #2 I live Mike Anthony but his backing vocals are always sharp. Does anyone know what I mean?
