I remember staying up late to see this LIVE on television when I was a child, I could not exhale throughout the entire broadcast until it was over, then I cried....
@karbritt what a nice thing to say. Way back then it was deemed Bowie was very risque and parents didn't like him and some religious groups singled him and others out to be the work of Satan..lol...time ..he is laughing at us all.
I have not heard this song in years. When I was about ten years old my mom turned me on to David Bowie. This made me cry when I heard it. My mom passed at the age of 53. I miss her. Thank you for posting this.
thanks for that, I lost my mun at around that age too, when this came out I bought the single for her as a present, assuming she would have my taste, wee it was better that Franky Lane in my eyes.
Wow! I remember seeing this on THE MIDNIGHT SPECIAL that was a whole Bowie episode--back in the mid 70s (in another song, he wore a "keyhole" jumpsuit that got ripped off by assistants). I was probably 10 or 11 and this GREATLY influenced me. Seems like something I dreamed, but here it is. It's great to see this again after so long, thanks for posting it!

I've loved Bowie since I first heard Ziggy Stardust. He's always different and always himself.

The woman looks frighteningly similar to Lady Gaga... O.o Bowie is amazing, though.

Brings back a lot of memories. Looking back I'd say that was the highlight of the show.

Glam to the max! Anyone else notice he said "long Blonde hair" instead of black, or am I remembering the words wrongly...?
clairescally 2 years ago
he does say 'long blonde hair' here...maybe you're getting confused with lady stardust, in which he says 'long black hair' :)

@arlykamikaze or Sweet's Blockbuster -"you better watch out, you better beware, you better look out if you've got long black hair"?
