This movie was WAAAY before its time. I mean, with all of the super hero movies coming out now. You know Sheena IS a mutant. Mutant Power(S) - psionic summoning and controlling of animals - telepathy with animals.

For me, Tanya was a sex symbol of the 80s. Yes, I realize that the 80s had Madonna and Kim Basinger but Tanya Roberts was no less beautiful and sexy.
So the opening credits are 2 1/2 minutes of a hot, scantly clad blond chick bouncing up and down on a zebra, that's just brilliant film making right there.

When I was about 8 (which was about 8 years ago) we rented all the videos of 80's fantasy adventures (Conan series, Beastmaster series, Red Sonja, etc.) because of all the TV shows that were based on them (also Xena, Hercules). I loved all the shows and all the movies. Sheena lived in the modern world though and that is what made her totally different. I disagree with those calling her a "bimbo", she was a heroine, save the guys life and kicked the bad guys butt.
I remember there being a certain sound effect in this that i am not hearing here. hope someone can tell me it isn't just me. (a little like that clapping effect like in titanic).

Sorry, no full-frontal here. In both scenes, her "lower" anatomy was carefully hidden. Otherwise, the movie would have had a different rating which the producers wouldn't risk. I rank this flick right up there with "One Million Years BC" with Raquel Welch or "When Dinosaurs Ruled the Earth" with Victoria Vetri. Beautiful women in skippy loincloths---a can't miss formula.
I grew up with this movie. I'm aware it's pure cheese but I love it anyway. The soundtrack, the likable (if dense) heroes, the really despicable villains, and all those cool military vehicles (as a kid I couldn't get enough of that helicopter gunship!). Glad I got the widescreen DVD for Christmas. :)

When I was watching this as a kid, on ropey VHS, I was SURE that there were two bits in it where the camera was low & you could see right up her shammy leather skirt & could see a very tidy camel toe. I remember that one bit was near the end when she had her hands tied & was giving a speech to the troops or something, & with each shake of her hands to make a point, the skirt would flap up & bingo. Can't remember where the other bit was. Can anyone with a nice, sharp DVD copy confirm this?
Did they really spray paint horses like Zebras? That is disgusting! I know Zebras are a lot smaller than horses, so it would make sense, but that is seriously twisted. They should have just made a film of 90 minutes of the actress in varying positions of jumping up and down, or swimming, rubbing lotion on herself. It probably would have been more entertaining.
Tanya aside,for me the best parts of the movie were the opening and closing credits sequences and this song.During the closing sequence,there are literally hundreds of thousands of birds in the background,as she rides along on her horse.

Sorry, no full-frontal here. In both scenes, her "lower" anatomy was carefully hidden. Otherwise, the movie would have had a different rating which the producers wouldn't risk. I rank this flick right up there with "One Million Years BC" with Raquel Welch or "When Dinosaurs Ruled the Earth" with Victoria Vetri. Beautiful women in skippy loincloths---a can't miss formula.

I grew up with this movie. I'm aware it's pure cheese but I love it anyway. The soundtrack, the likable (if dense) heroes, the really despicable villains, and all those cool military vehicles (as a kid I couldn't get enough of that helicopter gunship!). Glad I got the widescreen DVD for Christmas. :)

Vangelis is the best this one of my favour movie, Tanya is one of the most beautiful woman of the 80's especialy I member her in Almost in pregnant was so nice, but this movie is her the best, and beautiful of wild african's nature...I like those climates!!!

When I was watching this as a kid, on ropey VHS, I was SURE that there were two bits in it where the camera was low & you could see right up her shammy leather skirt & could see a very tidy camel toe. I remember that one bit was near the end when she had her hands tied & was giving a speech to the troops or something, & with each shake of her hands to make a point, the skirt would flap up & bingo. Can't remember where the other bit was. Can anyone with a nice, sharp DVD copy confirm this?

Did they really spray paint horses like Zebras? That is disgusting! I know Zebras are a lot smaller than horses, so it would make sense, but that is seriously twisted. They should have just made a film of 90 minutes of the actress in varying positions of jumping up and down, or swimming, rubbing lotion on herself. It probably would have been more entertaining.

Tanya aside,for me the best parts of the movie were the opening and closing credits sequences and this song.During the closing sequence,there are literally hundreds of thousands of birds in the background,as she rides along on her horse.

this was one of my favorite movies from my childhood and the music when she's riding i use to love that sh#t...oh the dreams i use to have....she use to be in many dreams many of nights let me tell you... she's beautiful...its still a great movie but now a days theres something about her accent and just the way she talks that gets me laughing all the time.....

They had to paint horses to look like zebras anything over 60 lbs would hurt the zebras. Don't know were I heard that;but, I believe it true.
