I'm battling over that idea of "is he better than me" at the moment. I meet many talented guitarists, but I am beginning to realize that while many of them can play quickly or add lots of effects, their connection to the soul is largely hollow or self-serving. even if it isn't, I guess it doesn't matter in the end. what I'm doing is the most important thing, I guess. Thank you for helping me think this over, Siggi!
Do not remove this video it inspired my ass to improve my soloing techniques and general guitar playing. All of your videos are awesomely helpful. xxx
I feel you have set out many exercises here for us to study/learn and aspire to.
I particularly like your effortless fretwork; you only use the finger muscles needed to make the sound you want. No overplaying here- a sign of a real master. Thank you Siggi.
Ich wusst garnicht das du ne gibson hast :D Schönes teil :D meeehr videos damit, ach ja, und kannst du mit der das Jump Solo - van halen maachen? Also ne lesson.. bitte :D
OMG thats the guitar of my life i would love to have one...but no money :( ...are only made some models of goldtop per year...i heard that one of those cost 6000€ :O
Siggi, thank you for reminding me to remain determined and consistant...I haven't played for roughly 6 years, because of being frustrated with myself. Your lessons are great, step by step walkthroughs and showing me not to be intimidated by the song. I wasn't able to play chords before watching your lessons, now I can; Thank you very much! Keep up the great work! Do you use any other effect pedals? (besides Distortion)?
ich verstehe nur eine sache nicht, siggi: wie kannst du dabei so cool da sitzen?^^ ich meine, bei solchen rocksolos geht man doch total ab. ich würde dich gerne mal beim headbanging sehen. *g*
Siggi, thanks for all the great information. I am getting so much from your way of explaining things in music. Are you a music teacher by profession? I believe you mentioned your students in another vid. If you are, I hope your students appreciate what a gifted teacher they have. They are very, very lucky. We, in You Tube land are also very lucky to have your lessons. I for one greatly appreciate all your help. Thank you.
At first, u may find it, "oh no! thats very confusing!"
But, one thing i could tell u people who are striving to be a pro guitar player, the tabs and notes are still just based on the scale of the chord, although they are only played fastly, all u have 2 do is exercise ur hand everyday,
every morning ull awake, when ure not bz, play guitar, spare times? play guitar... how about b4 bedtimes? play guitar! but still u need to rest.. :D
thanks Siggi for your time and knowledge, its so nice of you to help us out, i was looking at key to the highway yesterday and it really helped me... THANKYOU AGAIN
siggi, i need you to post a video for 'how to play van halen's "hot for teacher"'. i understand you might get requests like this all the time, but you're a fantastic teacher and if you dont know how to play the song, you'll absolutely love it! please consider..
Siggi, please keep this video posted, I need time to digest all your comments, tips and thoughts that you have generously shared with us in cyberspace. A grateful begginer Danke, Mark
I really enjoy your video lessons - they are giving me lots of ideas. I am trying to improve my technique but it's happening very slowly - what's the key? Is it consistency?
Hey man. What scales do u use for this sort of rock improv?? I'm just having troble with doing a "rock" solo vs. a "blues" solo...I know theyre similar but what do u do to make the kick ass diference??
this video is so true, ive learned everything i know about guitar on my own, and you don't need to know all the scales and notes to play a sweet solo, just find the key and find different patterns and things that sound good.
You are amazing. I loved the video, it was very inspiring. I've been struggling myself looking at other guitarists solo, I know I can Im just lacking that feeling. This video helped a lot. Rock on Siggi
Nice guitar playing, i realt like the way you teach. I don't know if this is the right way to ask you this and it might be kind of cliché but could you teach me (us) metallica: nothing else matters. Its a hard song 2 learn on your own. Thanks anyways!
Cheers, something I didn't actually know learned: the sound of a harmonics can be played by changing the position of where of you pick :) Everything else I already know, but I gained something from watching this, thanks :)
can you tell me like how you get so fast like as in starting out slow or what? like how did you start i cant find a good rythme or what sounds go together ?
Salve Siggi the Wisdom, stille Wasser gründen tief,du hast es sehr fett drauf, nicht nur das Gitarrespielen, sondern auch wie man es sehen, bzw.angehen sollte....very cool, thanks a lot ........
thanks siggi! u r great tho...its just weird when i try really hard to play a song and u can play like that!lol.. hopefully one day i'll be as good as u.
Some of the most informative instructional videos I've seen. Please don't stop !! There are two lessons I'd love to see - Burning for You by Blue Oyster Cult and Promises in the Dark by Pat Benetar - neither of which, with the solos, can I find anywhere else. Any chance??? Regardless, thanks so much. 24classic
Siggi I've just come across some of your posts and think they are great. You tell it how it is and with no bull.I'd say you and Michael Schenker are my two favourite germans..although I only know of two anyway :)
Wow, thanks man! I'm studying the guitar all by myself, trying to finally learn how to improvise some solos, and your lessons are really both helping and inspiring my learning process. Very didatic and clear. Hope you don't remove any of these vids, and please upload a lot more!

I don´t think in scales. Like you learn a language I found out the phrases or licks that i like. They fit into a rock as well as in a blues solo.
