  • Hillman Imp was my first car in 1985 it cost me £50 and I sprayed it red and painted a white stripe down the side....good old days, we had some fun in it.

  • the christians tell it like it is or did

  • Loving the cars... the viva, capri, orions, cavaliers, citroens, hillman imp, jag, mini traveller and chevette! Wish I could go back to then... it just seems like five minutes ago.

  • my mate karl jones made me listen to their first album ,,, thought it was shite .went to see them on their homecomeing in 88 ,,, seen them twelve times since ... different line up still the same sound GARY CHRISTIAN scouse legend

  • This video was shot on the Brackenbury Village estate in Ickenham, Hillingdon, West London. I know this because I maintained the grounds to the site at the time. It's me backing out in the white van. What shocks me is how old the cars look. God, I've been in business a long time!!

  • Great band with a good message ..

Those were the days when I was young and listened to their music ;-)

  • I would say Bicester, Oxfordshire is a forgotten town!

  • ha ha im from buckingham but listening to this adelaide australia and Buckingham is a forgotten town!

  • love all the old motors in this vid, as well as the great tune.

  • @67roko

Haha yeah like the Vauxhall Viva at 1:04 which my dad had in an orange/red during the mid 1970s. I used to climb in and out through the window, copying one of my favourite TV shows The Dukes Of Hazzard. Well it sorta looked a little like the General Lee, minus all the markings of course. Oh come on! I was just a child with a childs imagaination! :D

  • God listening to this song brings back so many memories...feel really old now though!

  • That video is surreal, excellent job! Thanks!

  • still a fave after all these yrs later

  • cool tune, very groovy from a very decent band

  • Love the mug shots, good old days :)

  • great stuff well in RobotRuss the80s

  • great song ,great band

  • eliminate religion, how many people died as slaves under Stalin or Mao under "secular rule" ???? 100000000000s died! Slavery was created by eastern people for eastern people, the black man sold the black man to the white man and vice versa! Im not Christian but im not buying your arguement. sorry mate.

  • it does look like a forgotten town those pictures.I know of many beautiful buildings and houses in Britain, but these houses are a little depressing.Beautiful song though !!

  • The Christians are absolute legends, yet another great band from Liverpool!!! So proud of our city, its musical heritage is second to none. Most underated band of all time. Love them.

  • check out the remixes on all the tunes some are really good, nowt without the originals of course but good in their own right.

  • Proud to say i bought the Album The Christians when this came out and it started with this exact version and finish with the other version,, quality upload thank you.

  • Great, great song

  • Cool. this must be the UK version....

  • saw the boys live @ the international 2 i think n big audio dynamite the week after two top shows, but back to the christians boss show great vocals an spot on musical production. i loved all their tunes quite apt for the times in which they where released just like the specials a no of yrs earlier. music has a real power and there are certain times when young people catch the moment and are able to put down what a lot of us feel on a music track bravo mr priestmsn ur words were dread, thanks

  • @philsyard Funny you say that because i remember watching The Christians doing Forgotten Town on The Tube and it reminded me of The Specials and Ghost Town esp the mixed race line up.

  • i am a 1959 like the christians very much, thanks for remembering, greetings from germany Volker

  • great track

  • He runs past some cool old motors on this

  • looks like Manchester - the south side, maybe Stockport Road area near Longsight?

  • toxteth liverpool

  • There from Liverpool, so my guess it's in Liverpool some place?

  • I loved this album! Loved the sound, so great. I agree with hahathatswaycool - they dont make music like they used to! :-)

  • Greatest Liverpool band since OMD...

  • @essertpitay although OMD are from the wirral ,no nastyness intended btw x

  • @TheLuigi69 Sorry, what was my original comment ? Cause I know that OMD were from the Wirral.

  • What a talented band.

Years ahead of their time. this and 'Ideal World" were two of the most under rated songs of the '80s.

What ever happened to the Christians?

I'll bet my life some music industry tossers told them to try and sound like Aha, Wham, or some other '80s shite pop bands, That's how the UK music industry works.

Otherwise record companies would have broken bones to have signed them up for life

  • Think this band were very much of their time - reflects the convergence of pop media yuppie culture and the reality for many young people in the mid to late 1980's.

  • the budget must of been tight as it's possibly the worse music video i've ever seen, they didn't even turn the timer off from the camera! still it's a good tune though

  • this track was used on the Liverpool fc team of the decade BBC video

  • AHH my Dad showed me this song, GOH how i love it, they don't make music like this now. Thanks towack1963, appreciate it

  • it only seems like yesterday i was listening to this. How time flys.

  • hope some people look... really look

  • I can`t believe it`s already more than 20 years old. Still a great song!!!!
