This song reminds me of all the traveling I have done. It brings a load of memories of me being away from home. I been a drifter, in the military, a trucker and many other nomadic proffessions. It both makes me think of home when traveling and the road when I am home. Hope that makes sense.

I think it's a universal sentiment. No place like home, etc. At the same time it's a travel song. It's not about somebody who stays home but about somebody who misses home when he's gone.
