@maomiandmyna HeeChul didn't jump because, at that time, he still had the metal rod in his leg, from the terrible car accident, he was involved in. It would simply have caused him to much pain. If you watch music videos, or other shows from around that time, you'd notice that he wouldn't be dancing, or moving around much either..

He said, during an interview, just before entering the military, that he wasn't able to dance as well as his friends, because of the pains in his leg, and that he was often critisized by viewers of his live performances, for not dancing as much as the others. Because of this, he was assigned to public duty, which is not as physically demanding as actual soldier training, so I'm guessing he still suffers from pains to this day..
