Great vids Neil, still watching through all your tips. Just a question for you, Im trying to work out some drills or routines to practice, what do you suggest for general practice routines to focus on (other than known weaknesses in my game, I would research these and add those routines to the general practice to improve my ability on the weakness)?
if you played that exact shot with left stun , the white would hit the furthest red to the left and you almost gauranteed a decent shot on a red , if you playing it soft like that, the white is just goin to stick to the red everytime
@jmez07 playing with left hand side would cause the black to straighten up thus causing you to miss or in potting the black to miss the pack .......this is more of a holding shot than splitting the pack all over the table ......ideally it should be played with reds available into the corners ..........playing this shot with any side applied only makes the shot more difficult .........far better to keep the game as simple as possible
@neilmaxman You should have played it with left hand side and a bit more power, not ample left hand side so that you miss the pot, just enough so that the white has a straight line into the reds, and also using more power would allow the reds to split better putting them into more pottable positions. And you say it is a holding shot? Why would you want to hold the white ball so that it just sticks into the reds? It's not a criticism, just want to know.
@ArsenalTomas ..........thank you for commenting tomas ........please read above with the answer i gave to jmez07........in the clip so it was easier to show the reds were tight together .......most occassions in frames the reds are far more loose .....thus it then becomes more of a holding shot ........plus as i mention above if the pack is tight ....ideally reds should be available to the corners when playing this type of shot
hi neil , lately im playing good potting balls , but im having trouble in how much power i put in the shot, im pretty good in finding the line of the cue ball , ur help would be great ,,,,,,, thanks
Hi neil, if you wanted to split the pack up more and not get stuck to the pack also be able to more power behind the shot without missing the pack would you position the white lower on the black or play with more screw?
Nice job with the tips. I'm an absolute beginner but I have watched snooker on TV for years.
What would be your advice on FRONT HAND POSITION when you place your bridge to do a common shot? Forgive me if this has already been covered but I have watched many of your clips and haven't come accross it yet in detail.

Thanks Neil! I will have some questions to provoke some interesting clips, in the new year. Basically trouble spots at my standard.
Have a good Christmas!! Bless.
