@cmf5198 you can shift gears in an automatic. you can actually go a bit faster through the gears but if you don't do it right it'll take way longer. I used to do it in my civic 4 door and I beat a couple people with it but I'm glad I have a 5 speed in my coupe lol. I didn't know you could go from a forward gear to reverse though. I thought there was a lock for things like that in auto's

@REWej8 I would think there would be a lock, there's a lock on my 5 speed, and that's a manual, so you would think an automatic would have one. I have only driven an automatic one time, and it was freakishly boring, so I never invested much time into learning about racing them.

yep syncros would protect you. but usually there are no syncros for reverse, no need. you fist down from 1to2, palm up and away from 2to3 and from 4to5. 3to4 you back hand down, also for downshift 5to4 back hand. 4to3 point fingers down and make a claw, push up. each shift has a hand pos. see UUC motorwerks shortshift. race on a track, not on street. you could lose license car and or life because there's no control in environment. be smart, not stupid.

most of the newer ones are made to where you can only go into reverse if you go into neutral first, so like if ur just shifting, (not moving) and you go from 2nd to R it wont let you, you have to go into nuetral, then go into R from there

why do people think this car is stick? it's a nissan aramada = SUV. if it's like most SUV's then the shifter will be on the column so if he pushes too hard on the shifter it's gonna keep going past drive. at that point all he has to skip is neutral and he'll be in reverse.

lol. idk how you do that. i have an 06 civic si at the moment and if i try to shift in reverse going faster than 2 mph, it locks you out, which sounds like grinding. it gets quite annoying. lol. altho my next cars gunna be a 5 speed, so maybe i might shift into R cuz theres no 6th gear!

Armada 2005 against Toyota Aurion 6 speed Automatic ... very fast and light car. i got him in the take off though i forgot to switch off the VDC and at the end i shfted from 3rd gear to Reverse..wow.. loud sound and the truck dies on me..thanx for the safety feature. started and shifted ok. the sound was a back fire i think.. this Aurion has over a 100 racing runs which makes it very fast. I will get him next time.. enjoy.
