@TazarZero wich psu u've got? newegg sucks for dont telling this info, i was gonna buy it straight ahead, but i felt that something was up because powerful and expensive cards always need supply...
@gesc1989 For this system, I went with a 1000W psu, just to cover all the bases. But I've seen others go with a 750W, on up to a 900W psu for a system with just one video card. It's a personal preference to always have too much power, than barely or not enough, so yeah, the tower in this video has a 1000W psu, and my newer tower has a 1200W psu.
@TazarZero jesus christ!!... i don't have a lot of money for that xD, but anyways, i dont wanna get tricked by hardware ads in newegg of thermaltake psu.. i believe there are like real watts and i don't how exaclty that works, so, if i used a tt 630w psu will it work fine?
@gesc1989 Haha, yeah, it's a bit extreme, but I also saved up for it too, so I figured I had earned what I bought. As for your question, for a single video card setup, I think a 630W should be fine. It doesn't sound like you're going for anything too extreme, so you shouldn't have any trouble.
@TazarZero yeah well.. i just want to get rid of my old 5670 for another real powerful and at the same time reasonably priced graphic card, it seems to me that the 6870 is the one... sorry for being so annoying (:P) but i have to ask u, what psu brand u recommend, i've read a lot of trashtalking about Thermaltake, and they also seems way too expensive compared with other good brands like corsair, so what'ya think
@gesc1989 I've never really paid much attention to brands when I bought my PSU's, the 1000W for the tower in this video is from hecZephyr, and the 1200W is from Cooler Master. You may have heard of one, but not the other. When I bought mine, I focused on what I needed (and what aesthetically pleased me), versus what others argued over being the best there was. I recommend that you not cheap out on your PSU though, the extra money will serve you well in the long run.
@fataxe1 The cooler is a Thermaltake DuOrb Hybrid cooler. I had it installed on an LGA775 motherboard, and yes, it did blow air down over the RAM. As for Temps, I couldn't tell you how well it worked because I didn't monitor that stuff closely at the time, and that system has since been upgraded, so I couldn't run it now to tell you.
@fataxe1 Yeah, it's not something I'd recommend for an HTPC. I bought it for the Red and Blue LED fans, and for the hybrid cooling, but HTPC's normally aren't built for looks as much as they are for simple function. Either way, good luck with your build. :)
@2010butchd I wanna say the GTX 560 is the Nvidia equivalent. But, Nvidia and AMD mark their product specs differently like VRAM, Stream Processors, Bit rates, etc. Price-wise, however, the GTX 560 (non Ti version) and the 6870 are pretty close. Hope this helps.
lol, ihave to laugh at these people with their fucking stupid cans of compressed air, fuck man just go buy a mini compressor,i bought a 2 gallon does up to 125psi from walmart for $49.99 ,you buy 4 cans of that stupid retarded cans of air,you could have bought a compressor, lol
@DannyBruv2k If your PSU only has two connectors, in most cases it was only made for two. A work-around for this would be to buy Molex-to-PCIe adapters (two (2) 4-pin molex to one (1) 6-pin PCIe). Some video cards will come with these adapters, most will not. But the safest way to get more PCIe connectors would be to buy a new PSU that has them natively.
@TazarZero Some PSUs (like mine lol) are simply so old they were calculated for use with GPUs that use SOOOOOOO much power you'd buy something huge for a 4x6pin setup.
Prime example - my Silent PRO M700 - it has 2x8pin full stop. That doesn't stop it from having enough power for a 2x6970 setup does it?
@TazarZero Also I think most cases today have the PSU on the bottom instead of on the top so the wires don't drop down in front of you making it more difficult. Also to bring up, I am not sure what case in this video you have, didn't hear or see mention about it. I did hear you say it was a full size case, but sitting in front of it putting the video card in, it made it seem smaller than usual. So for me to know my cases, Its hard to tell which one it is by looking at its side :P
@majinpvegeta The case in this video is the Xclio A380COLOR. Not a wire-managment friendly case. And funny you mention the HAF-X - I've since built another system and used the HAF-X for that build. Indeed it does look much better as far as wire management goes. :)
@TazarZero ah that sucks, I just figured I went by the date the video was posted, and thought you would have gone with a case with better wiring management. I wouldn't be surprised if you didn't buy a new case sooner or later. I recently bought a new one, has nice cable management and its huge so its easier to work with. Has nice cooling in it as well. Is called Cooler Master HAF X ATX Full Tower. Its like 23 inches high, 12 inches wide and about 25 inches deep. just trying to help u out.
@majinpvegeta If you knew your cases, you'd know that there is no real option for putting wires behind the mobo panel in this case. Simply put, yes, I have thought of it, but couldn't do it.
@niMoviesProductions This particular BE card has higher clock speeds for the GPU and Memory. It is factory overclocked so you don't have to worry about doing that yourself. And plus with BE cards, you supposedly get the 'red carpet' treatment from XFX. But if none of that is important to you and you want to save a few bucks, go with a standard card.
@ZombieWolfe MSI does Intel as well as AMD. Just depends on what CPU you wanna run. My board is running a Q9550 at 3.4Ghz ever since I learned how to do basic overclocking. :)
@TazarZero yeah im going to get an amd processor, hey you did say in the video that these cards have only 1 bridge connector, yet i see some computers running these cards in tri crossfire. do you know how its possible?
@ZombieWolfe For the 6xxx series cards, the 68xx's have only one connector. The 69xx's have two. Simple fact of the matter is that if someone is saying they have 68xx's in Tri-Xfire, they're lying, or they hit '8' instead of '9' when titling their video. If they're actually saying 68xx's vocally, they're lying. That's how it's possible. :)
@TazarZero hmm, ok i get it, reason why i ask is that i would like to have these card in tri crossfire better than having 6970s since the 6970s are more expensive. but i dont see that possible :/
@PhenomonAwesome Yeah, that's what I thought it was at first too, but if that's the case (no pun intended), then the 'i' is silent. That's why I call it Lio (like Leo). Just easier to remember. :)

Are the cards any loud on idle?
GubzYES 2 weeks ago
@GubzYES At idle, all you will hear are your case fans. These cards won't be annoyingly audible until the fans get up to 50-60%

how much power supply u need for this one? according to newegg u dont need any :s
gesc1989 2 weeks ago
@gesc1989 From the AMD site, the specs page says for the card alone, a 500W psu is recommended. In Crossfire, a 600W psu is recommended.
