  • We tested the Wrangler in Germany!

  • Haha that road in the beginning was NOTHING. But I did want to see the Range do the last bit... Lol!

  • Tacoma FTW!

  • Split Rock has public use off road trails? Hell my fam has reunions there every 2 yrs I wanna take my Tacoma there, can anyone tell me if it's still open for public use or do you need to have a pass or a timeshare there to use the trails?

  • Also if a range rover could do, any car could do it

  • Come on, my uncle fusion could drive on that road at the beggining

  • My dream car

  • is the guy owen wilson?

  • You think A old school jeep is a good first car? like a 94. I Just want a chillen summer car that I can go to desert parties in haha

  • Ah, I wanted to see the Land Rover behind it. You should have compared the two!

  • I wouldn't pay $34000 for 2 of these Jeeps.

  • @JustJeepin666 awesome!! you are going to love it

  • range rover.. win :P

  • Monel have a jeep wrangler.buyed in 2010.the last generation

  • skid plates underneeeeeeeeaath....

  • I want one too. I guess I'll keep riding around on my 21-speed Shwinn.

  • Hey guys press 5 repeatedly

  • It's not a truck.

    It's a SUV.

  • Jeep is number 1 still number 1 and will always be number 1 but seriously folks these tests suck it's just a little bumpy dirt road with a few rocks as in 8 inch rocks lol. These roadfly guys are just that ROAD FLY not OFFROAD FLY.

  • Give me a break. I drive over rougher terrain on my way to work. Dumb.

  • Hey i didnt know that owen wilson did car reviews lol

  • this guy has the most annoying voice ever

  • :28

Man, you're really flying down that trail. Don't kill yourself!

  • OIIIIIIIO

  • Flex!

  • mercedesi cocos

  • It's a SUV, not a truck.

  • hey, don't cut the vid... i want to see the range rover do the track

  • was that a stock jeep ? because my buddys doesnt look the same crawling

  • DUDE I've been to Split Rock 3 times never heard of these trails can somebody fill me in?

  • I bought a 2008 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon yesterday. I take delivery on wednesday...I cant wait..!!!

  • @gmanw3 LUCKY!! Damn I want one. I guess I'll keep riding around in my Cherokee :-( At least take me for a spin in that thing lol

  • Nice Rubicon, but I`ll stick with my Hummer H2.

  • @jvbdj cool story bro... youre gay

  • me encata la rubicon wow la amo

  • Jeep Wranglers are truly great cars. They are hardy and reliable even on the roughest roads!

  • @bettenhausenauto If I was going to buy a Jeep, I'd get a Wrangler.

I'm saving up for a Defender instead though.

I'm not sure about the US but over here in the UK it's seen as a gay man's car, not that I care much but I find it strange how such a great vehicle is so negativly thought of.

  • 2:07 lol that's not a wrangler behind it hahahah

  • @Kittylover9393 Looks like a Land Rover.

  • @Kittylover9393 Yeah, I noticed the Forrester, too! It's like the Subaru was thinking "have I come too far? oh well, I'm here, might as well keep driving!" Maybe I should check out that one and save $20,000 or there about. I do love the looks and abilities of the Wrangler 2dr! You should see the 2011 instrumentation and door panels! The hardtops will be the same color as the body on the Sahara models! City fun too!

  • I just saw the images with the new 2011 Jeep Wrangler. The interior is awesome. I hope they will sell it in EU with the 2.8 L diesel.

  • I hope Jeep Wrangler will improve gas mileage per mile in the future as well as the horse power, beyond 250hp?

  • Yup nice range Rover, definately worth every dime!

  • ollllllo FOR LIFE

  • this thing needs to be the 6speed not the gay ass automatic if you want a true off roading jeep go with the standard transmission

  • wat kind of trail is that?

  • Love this truck, my dads father's day present to himslef on tuesday, cant wait

  • @jeep4jeep

This trail just doesnt do this thing justice!

  • Agreed on the Stnadar..never automatic

  • this was light duty

  • i could do that trail in a prius

  • @austinax123

    LOL

  • @austinax123 agree

  • My 91' chevy sprint could take on that trail with no problem.

  • My 91' chevy sprint could fly down that road at about 30 clicks.

  • This isnt a Jeep Wrangler Rubicon it is standard.

  • I have an idea. Buy a mid 90's Cherokee sport or even a Grand Cherokee w/ the Dana 44 in the rear and a 4.0l HO I6, for around $3200.00. Put 3" lift kit on it, a set of ARB lockers and a set of 33" BFG's ( or a set of BFG Mudders). You'll have 4 doors and the satisfaction that you built your own Jeep rather than over paid for this one and save around $24.000.00. More money for beer. Oh yeah and the guy in this video is real TOOL. Fire him.

  • this trail is weak ...i could do this in my ae86 (welded diff) why did he even use 4wd? no need. ------break it like you own it!!!!!

  • @driftninja17 hahahaha. bitches dont know 'bout the ae86's legendary off-road capabilities. but yeah, man. dude's driving on a dirt road going 2mph like he's going to break something.

  • Most people want jeeps cause most Range Rovers where i live are about $80,000 road queens now and the jeep is $27,000-$35,000 and they have tons of aftermarket stuff

  • Sweet minivan, jeep did it again! Jeep 4 life!

  • I love the idiots on here talking about Range Rovers. Funny if Range Rovers were so much better how come I've never seen a Range Rover out on a battlefield?

  • idiots all of you

  • haha jeeeps suck.. land rover kill 'em

  • @LR3HSE shit you wish dem pussy range rover doesnt matched up to a jeep any day but you can keep wishin that they would all you want

  • Jeep "troller" of Brazil is better, more robust !

  • thats really stupid. i have a 1979 cj7 and i could that trail in reverse. jeeps are road queens now. if you want a good jeep, you need an older one

  • @wutth13 you damn right

  • @wutth13 You're delirous if you think a stock 79 CJ will go anywhere near where a 2010 JK Rubicon will go. And if you want to talk mods; If you spend the same amount of money for mods on both the JK will still beat the CJ. They are both excellent vehicles but you can't really compare how well they 4X4. Progress is good.

  • jeepin with automatic transmission??ARE YOU SERIOUS?who gave you idea of driving vehicles using automatic transmission OFF ROAD??next time have a better and crisp ideas!b'coz truckin and jeepin is Strategy and Extreme Sports..

  • i wanted this so bad but my head came above the roll bar so i got the f jap cruiser, have a love hate relation ship with it, better on road than off but still no jeep...untill they make the roll bar taller im getting one

  • I Want That Truck Yo!!,

    That's The drug traffickers' Car!

  • I never liked jeeps much but this video sure does make it look like the best stock offroader you can buy

  • I have had no problems with mine. It's my 3rd jeep and I love it. And don't get IFS, i'm sick of pulling toyotas to the trail head when they cant make it. It's funny how toyota owners knock jeeps when the most popular front end upgrade for a toyota is to convert it to a solid axle. Hmmm wonder why that is?

  • I agree. I've owned VW's and Audi's and this is my first Jeep. I love it. My wife bought one and I stopped driving my allroad and Jetta in favor of her Jeep so I bought one too!

  • But aren't those Fjs having a bunch of issues with the frames bending?? Lol and I've hears that Toyota will void your warranty with even simple off roading? Not saying they suck, it's just what I've heard..

  • @stang0084 youve heard some rediculously false statements.

  • straight axle is always better than independent offroad

  • I am confused! Is solid axle better then independent for off roading... which is a better off roader, the Range Rover or Jeep?

  • @rayamanelly

    the jeep is better because...

land rover (defender) has bad Brakes and isnt very safe.

  • Didn't you see the Range Rover they brought just in case they needed it for rescue:)

  • @DariusCeg hahaha yeah I saw it right at the end of the clip!

  • He was probably carrying emergency chrome polish and wax, but that's about it.

  • @DariusCeg

Something tells me that that you don't have slight clue about Range Rover or automotive tech at all. Otherwise, you wouldn't be posting nonsense. Range Rover is a joke off-road in comparison to Jeep.

  • @zrvpvo8789 If you like it then buy one! I personally hate it.

  • @DariusCeg

Of course I like it - it's better then any Jeep I owned in the past.

Your problem - you don't realize that different vehicles made for different purposes. Reading your comparison to Audi etc. and as a former owner of A8 - I think you an idiot (no offense).

  • @zrvpvo8789 I highly doubt that you went from a 80k vehicle to a 15k vehicle. Why don't you switch to a donkey and you'll be even more pleased. I was just giving my opinion. If you cannot me mature about it and only insult than that should tell you who the idiot is.

  • @DariusCeg Talking about maturity... Has it ever strike you by your 40 that people may have more then one vehicle? You cannot take Audi into the mud, on rocks or sand. Has is your logic works with Mercedes that only sells one G-wagon per 100's of S-class? Not to mention that Rubicon I'm interested is $38K. And it's not going to replace my Benz,Lexus and Hummer..

  • @zrvpvo8789 Ok you win! Now stop wasting my time.

  • @DariusCeg

You the only person that 'wasting' your time.

  • @DariusCeg

By the way, Wrangler cannot be compared to Range Rover, not to mention slight difference (about $40K) in price.... It's compared to Land Rover Defender.

Why don't you take it for a ride - Wrangler will feel as a limo...

  • Jeep.

  • A solid axle is stronger which will support more torque. It will also allow for true locking differentials. Finally, a solid axle allows for more articulation.

  • While it articulates better, the base Wrangler front axle is no stronger than some IFS CV axles. There's nothing inherent to IFS that prevents anyone from locking the diff. Lockers can test the strength of the front axle(s), but as I mentioned the Jeep Wrangler front end in no stronger than say a 4Runner's CV shafts.

  • The base wrangler's may not be, but the Rubicons is. Can you put a (true) locker on a IFS?

  • meh, still prefer the TJ rubicon and the XJ

  • The RUBICON have everything but if you get a JEEP it must be standard never automatic.

  • @MrHypno69 Who would get an automatic Jeep? ;)

  • @MrHypno69 What's the difference really.. I mean you probably say more control over your gears. But when you're running a trail surely you aren't going any higher than 1 or 2 anyway.. which you can set to in an automatic anyway?

  • @MrHypno69 autos are better for wheeling

  • @MrHypno69 add 2 door to that

  • @MrHypno69 Why would u say that?

  • @MrHypno69 might sound stupid but y never aotumatic

  • Impressive,not.

  • I am buying a new jeep and don't know much about them. If I want to be able to rock crawl on trails should I get a standard or auto. Does the rubicon have the option to lock the diff? Or is that something extra I need to purchase?

  • @DEVISTATIONDEVO good question dad.

  • @DEVISTATIONDEVO why would you put such a stupid question on youtube. at least go to a heep forum and ask it. furthermore, dont buy a jeep. theyre GARBAGE.

  • @GETaYOTA Why the fuck are you watching a JEEP video? to troll? nice life fucking loser.

  • I bought a new Rubicon and had it for about a year. The best thing about it was getting rid of it. Service is horble, the roof is a pain in the ass, the drive is extremely bumpy (feels like the car is falling apart, and the car cannot drive over a hundred km on the highway without feeling like it's going to tip over. In general, Stay away from american cars... No wonder the Government has to constantly rescue GM and Ford.

  • "The car cannot drive over a hundred km on the highway". There is your problem, you bought a RUBICON and you're talking about driving it on the highway. You'd be better off in a VW polo.

  • @fitchhollister you scare me. I want a jeep wrangler and i take the highweay everyday to work. Is that a problem for a jeep?

  • No not at all. I love the way my Jeep drives on road and off. However, it is going to drive like a truck. The point I was making is that while the Jeep does drive like a truck on the road it really shines OFF road. Additionally, the Rubicon has larger tires and weighs more so it behaves even more like a truck. It also has A LOT more off-road capability.

  • I have a 2006 Rubi Unlimited I cruse at 70mph 80 miles a day with no problems. Set the cruise control and enjoy the ride. On the weekends go off roading, then again my Jeep cost $24k not the $33k like the new ones...ouch

  • @newjersey02 Don't take my word for. Take the car for a testdrive on the highway and you will see for yourself. Also see if you can constantly put up with all the noise it makes.

  • By the way, the government had to bail out GM and Chrysler. Ford needed no help whatsoever. Get your information straight before you knock American cars.

  • @GkrkTheProfessional Sorry for the mistake but that still doesn't make them great cars. I'm not sure if you ever had an opportunity to drive an audi, benz or BMW but in my oppinion there is just no comparison. To me it was like driving on clouds in comparison to the American cars. Even when I drove a Viper, it seemed that it was only good going in a straight line. I do not mean to be offensive to a nation I just think that the industry could do better.

  • @DariusCeg I drove an Audi. I got rid of it. I love them but they can't go anywhere and I live in Colorado. I need utility. I'll buy another when I move somewhere where there are more streets than forests. Though, I hope that never happens.

  • @DariusCeg I have been able to drive an Audi, and you're right, for the most part the ride in American cars don't compare. But here, we're talking about a Jeep Wrangler which was built purely for function. Of course the ride isn't going to be smooth. In fact, most if not all, 4X4 vehicles have bumpy rides. There is no getting around it.

  • @GkrkTheProfessional Actually, I have to disagree. Look at the Nissans, Toyotas, Honday they all heve smooth rides. I think that nearly all have a 4x4 or all wheel drive version which drives comfitably. Another thing that I have notices amongst the American manufactures and Jeeps in particular is the rust. My neighbour has a 2010 Rubicon and there is already rush around the door handels and underneath the vehicle. Brrr.. This car really scares me.

  • @DariusCeg I understand what you're saying. But as far as my experience goes, the smoother the ride a 4x4 vehicle has, the less capable it is off road. The have to change a lot to the suspension to make the ride smooth. To be a good off road vehicle, the suspension has to be stiff to push the wheels down to get traction on uneven surfaces.

  • @DariusCeg If you're comparing a Jeep Wrangler to those vehicles you do NOT want to buy a Jeep. Jeep Wranglers are focused on going off-road. The vehicles you listed are focused on going through 6 inches of snow. The Jeep will drive just as well but you'll be wasting money on the extreme 4X4 capability.

  • jeeps are a lil bumpy due to the front solid axle which allows them to flex and articulate more than any nissan toyota etc. except fj and landcruiser, secondly jeeps are made for men who love outdoors and know how to use them its a jeep thing, what other vehicle comes with a factory roll bar seeing that alone you should know what its made for

  • @MrBabyjesus1129 In my opinion, it is just cosmetic. My rubicon had trouble before it's first service and the dealership told me that if the damage was caused as a result of off-roading, then it wouldn't be covered by warranty. Also pay attantion to the rust buildup even on 1 year ond models. If this is a car you have and you like then good for you! But If you are considering purchasing a Jeep then be caucious and do your research.

  • @DariusCeg

Who buys Wrangler and expect comfortable ride? Who expect roof come off as easy as on convertible? Who expects from purposely built 4x4 handling of a Porsche?

    Don't embarrass yourself with stupidity.

  • The rubicons come with locking dana 44 axles. They are the top models of the wrangler.

  • He didn't drive over anything a VW beetle couldn't handle.

  • rubicon...my favorite jeep

  • Comment removed

  • yuuuuh just picked my 2010 4 door white rubicon up.Deadly car except for the wimpy engine. The ole 4L had way more grunt and sounded better.

  • the Jeep is leading the way so it can pull the dainty teabisquit out when it gets stuck

  • (Reporting)

  • This man is a very good reviewer. Great rpoeting, Thanks!

  • There was a pretty little Range Rover following. If a Range Rover is following you, you're not Jeeping.

  • @fitchhollister

I agree, I thought the exact same thing when I watched the end

  • @fitchhollister the jeep was just making sure the range rover would make it

  • @fitchhollister The Range Rover is nearly as capable as a Jeep but much more comfortable. Well, and expensive.

  • @fitchhollister The Range Rover is nearly as capable as a jeep but much more comfortable. Well, and expensive.

  • @IppoJ Capable of driving over slippery surfaces? I'll agree with you on that. However, It doesn't have the approach or decent angels. You'd destroy it if you tried to keep up with a Jeep on a trail. Not to mention lockers. Perhaps you're not familiar with the advantages of good approach and decent angles or having lockers?

  • @fitchhollister Untrue, on all counts. The Range Rover is also available with lockers as an option.

What I did not say is that the RR is the Rubicon's off-road equal. I was merely saying do not discount the RR as merely another cute-ute or fakeUV. Unlike most others they were designed for off-road duty from the beginning.

  • @IppoJ You said it was nearly as capable as a Jeep. It's not even close. It's a nice car but it would get all beat up if it tried to follow me on a trail. Additionally, It does not have lockers. I checked the website.

  • @fitchhollister I'm unsure whose website you were looking at then. From their website:

Hill Descent Control (HDC) with Gradient Release Control (GRC)

    2-speed electronically controlled transfer box

Front/rear split and lockable central differentials

  • @fitchhollister Please, with decent tires a Range Rover can go anywhere a (stock) Jeep can go.

  • @tganubis You're crazy. Remember, Rubicons are "stock".

  • owen wilson lol

  • wow it was launching itself over rocks and mountains in that video, those skid plates sure were in handy!! hahaha is this grama offroading 101?

  • so these doors can't come off!

  • They can, just unhook the wiring harness and remove both nuts from the hinge on each door.

  • what about the mirrors?

  • There are companies that sell aftermarket relocation brackets to mount the mirrors on the body (just in front of the doors). Otherwise, you'll have to go without, which is what I do.

  • this is my next car

  • I love this car !

  • Why do you have voice coming through one channel, and music through another? So irritating!

  • My wife and I got an '08 Rubicon 4dr and just love it. We've been through rivers, climbed a rocky river bank...maybe not rocky as some of the rock climbers on youtube, but it was fun all the way.

The drawback for me is its almost vertical windshield...2nd one needs replacing in 2010...damned rocks...no real angle to help deflect it. Otherwise, love it... :D

Oh...and I agree with TheJeephistoria...it should come as a diesel option...that would be great.

  • @dougeagle I would get a two door

  • That is a possibility when the 4dr gets paid off. The 2dr would be my toy... :)

  • That would be a HUGE struggle for my 2008 Cadillac Escalade Awd. HAHA

  • cadillac escalade doesnt have to do anything with ANY terrain :)

  • Jeep Wrangler desparately needs a Diesel engine option! The entire Jeep line needs a diesel option for that matter!

  • @TheJeephistorian we get a 2.8 Turbo Diesel version of the Wrangler in South Africa. I think Jeep had to get a diesel engine for the SA market, otherwise they wouldn't have sold any. All our trucks in SA come with a Diesel option and it's the most popular one. Any diesel vechile just takes you so much further in African conditions.

  • @TheJeephistorian

It`s available here in Europe with a 2.8 Liter diesel that produces around 175 hp and 410 Nm of torque.

  • on the unlimited you can get 4X2 and 4X4 because it's the only 4 door convertible out there. makes it lighter, cheaper, and better fuel economy. as for the 2 door 4X4 is standard and the only option, the way it's supposed to be

  • Why would lifting a tire be a good thing. Unlock the swaybar lock up the rear atleast, your not driving miss daisy, find a real trail and show us what that pretty new jeep can do. Not somthing my old AMC eagle would laugh at.

  • beetwin hammer and wrangler i like both

  • Look like mine 2008 wrangler 4door same green fully loaded .

Jeep is built for off road not for why.

  • Mr. Land Rover is coming behind to show what he can

  • lol

  • That pos starts at 29g? WTF?

  • So i dont like the 4 door wrangler that eliminates the point of a wrangler...then they go and put a 3.8 v6 in there....wtf happened to the 4.0 strait 6 in the YJ. I gotta say i really dont like the way jeep is going. 4x4 is and option now it doesnt even come standard!

  • britts don't care what they built I guess

  • haha yeah he does!

  • woah woah woah... it's jeep pal, not truck.

  • hell yea he needs to get his facts strait

  • damn i wanted to see if the land rover would make it

  • of course it did.

  • Lol, is that Owen Wilson!? Joiking. :D

  • I'm getting a jeep- but not one this new or expensive. (Hopefully under $3000). And manual transmission. And one that hasn't had a hundred repairs from mudding or crap like that.

  • Jeeps are REAALLY strong cars. Its rare to see one with wrecked suspension or stuff. Have hit the undercarriage of mine a couple of times and havent ever had any trouble. anyway, Thoose who do have susp problems, have visual hits too.

  • Range Rover Sport was there to help if needed :p

  • If you own most unreliable 4x4 - this is hardly the place to make whole world aware of that.
