She was still under the meds they gave her at the hosp. and I was worried that she was going to hurt herself because she was pulling on her lips. She was doing that all day after the mri and had done it many times in the video before I pulled her hand down. =)

P.s Next time you have to get an IV ask for a Emla numbing patch, they really work, theyre kind of pricey ($12 a patch) but When ever i have to get an Iv I always have one handy.

Why did they put her asleep for an MRI? I mean, I know she's only 10, but I am very sick too and ive been having MRI's since I was 7 and now I'm 14 and no one knows what to do for me :/

She was very nervous and she stresses very easily. She needed to hold still for almost an hour and she has a fear of being in really small spaces. It was the best thing for her. They did ask her if she wanted to try to do it awake but after being with her for a few mins they all agreed that she needed to do it asleep.

I have a thing going on at the moment so I have to get MRIs all the time and I know it's not fun

Also I have really deep set veins so it is really hard to get IVs in me

You are kind of lucky though that you get sedated I have to do mine fully awake and I hate it so much they just give me a panic switch and told me to keep still or it would take twice as long

My husband had to get his the same way. MRIs are scary. He's 26(a grown man) and he was scared. I wish that it was protocol that people are given an option of being sedated or being alert during the procedure.

I prayed for you guys every night.....

When my daughter had to have surgery when she was 10 months old I was in the room when they put her under and she is now 3 years old and I will never get that image out of my mind. She just went limp in my arms and her eyes rolled back. It was insane!!! So I totally know what you where talking about, I got teary eyed when you where talking about that. Good luck to you guys!
