Nothing like this old time gospel. Sam Cooke, Paul Foster, R.H. Harris, Claude Jeter, Silas Steele, Archie Brownlee, Julius Cheeks and many many more. Thank u 4 blessing us with this music it will live forever. On Sunday's those guys are my sanctuary
Every time i listened to this song i think of how he died and its just sad. In those days for a black man there will always be either more than one story to a murder or not knowing at all...shame
@DiscipleRay oh my goodness.. just read up on his death after reading your comment! So sad.. just discovered sam cooke- fallen in love with him already. Was really hopin he was still alive. I hope he cried out to God too,
yes this generation seems to be looking for the wrong road, but like you say if this song was to be released again maybe the few good people out here will listen and begin to remember what grandmama use to tell them.
Sam Cooke's vocals and story tellin is so potent and relevant that if these songs were released, they'd be just as successful as they were back in the 50s and 60s... then maybe not cuz all my generation cares about is cars, clothes, women, sex, narcotics, etc. RIP Sam Cooke.
thank you for the posting of this musical jewel..it's medicine for my soul!

How could they get his birth year on his gravestone incorrect? He was born in 1931, NOT 1930...wow...

This man's voice was too powerful for this material world, he had to go back to the spiritual realm.

Sam should've stayed with Jesus. The way he died was so sad. I hope Sammie cried out to God before he breathed his last.

This is one of Sam Cooke greatest songs ever. I like this one very much. Just take a listen to the words in this song.
