It's interesting how the reporter refers to the period 1998-2008 as a 'decade of peace and stability.' Only the typically cavalier bourgeois media can look at a country suffering extremes of poverty and hardship, and characterise it as having 'peace and stability.'

Incidentally, some of his victims were Westerners who were arrested by Khmer Rouge naval forces in the Gulf of Thailand. They received the same monstrous treatment as Cambodians did until they made fraudulent "confessions" of being CIA agents.

Duch deserved to be hanged and his body simply thrown into the jungle to rot. He does not deserve to be called a human being, and if the regime were still in power he certainly would feel no guilt.

IT'S not him, he's merely the instrument of the algorithm producing the paradigm of administrative evil: "We war not against flesh and blood, but against powers and spiritual evil.". The Society has to recognize the algorithm so that, it can be caught and dismantled, and thus the paradigm of administrative evil, put to death/stopped.

Definately not enough, such an apology is noted, but it's pale compared to his barbaric turture and bludgeoening of thousands of defenceless innocent Cambodians, who pleaded for their lives, to say the very least. Well, it seems when any of these cruel sadistic murdering monsters are caught, they are the same, all humble and mellow, like Saddam Hussein was.
