  • Man, use proper Int Telecommunications Union (ITU) phonetics ("Golf" for the letter "G," not Germany). When you use "Germany," suspect many initially think you're in the country of Germany.

    By the way, the word "Germany" is the English name for that country, while someone speaking another language may use an entirely different name (thus no familiarity with the word "Germany"). Those languages differences are exactly why the ITU phonetics were created.
