In Canada (and the US when they were open) we bled them out. No horse was skinned alive, I can assure you of that. All the videos that I have seen have had the bleeders do their job properly. But unfortunate there r a certain nnumber of horses that go lame etc etc. And afer the horse market went to hell it has become a real buyers market. What would fetch a grand b4 the american slaughter ban was put up might get 100 bucks now! So now that means the top %10 of the foal crop will bring u a profit. The lower quality mares have just become "unwanted" horses.
